  • Foot Locker launches e-commerce site for its women’s fitness retail brand, Six.02

    New York -- Foot Locker, Inc. is introducing Six02.com, the e-retail extension of its Six:02 stores aimed at women. In addition to offering a full assortment of women’s athletic apparel and products, the site features the Get Fit Guide, a custom online tool to lead customers through the product offerings to find the perfect fit, style, and product based on preferred workout activity and body shape.

  • Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th plans new Florida store

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th plans to open a new store in Aventura, Fla., on Sept. 20.

    The store will be located in Town Center Aventura developed in partnership with Turnberry Media and will be the third Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th location in Miami. The 28,000-sq.-ft. layout includes an open floor plan, moveable fixtures and bright lighting.

  • HSN appoints TPG Capital advisor to board

    St. Petersburg, Fla. -- HSN has appointed Matthew Rubel, senior advisor with TPG Capital, to its board of directors.

    Rubel previously served as chairman, president and CEO of Collective Brands, where he worked from 2005-2011. Before that, his executive roles included serving as president and CEO of Cole Haan from 1999 to 2005, as well as serving as executive VP of J. Crew Group and CEO of Popular Club Plan.

  • ShopperTrak: Holiday sales to rise 2.4%; early Hanukkah to impact traffic

    Chicago -- Retail sales are forecast to rise 2.4% during the holiday season of November and December while total retail traffic will decrease 1.4% as compared to the year-ago period, according to ShopperTrak, a leading provider of shopper analytics. The company also notes that retailers have less time to capture peak holiday spending: There are only 25 days lie between Black Friday (Nov. 29) and Christmas this year, compared to 31 days in 2012. And unlike last year, consumers have only four (not five) full weekends to shop.

  • Hudson’s Bay appoints Harrod’s exec to run Saks

    Toronto -- Hudson’s Bay Co. (HBC) has appointed Marigay McKee, chief merchant of Harrods, as the future president of Saks Fifth Avenue. The appointment follows the news that Saks chairman and CEO Stephen Sadove and president and chief merchant Ronald Frasch will leave the company once it is acquired by Hudson's Bay.

  • Menemsha Solutions completes design-build for JustFab

    Los Angeles – Menemsha Solutions, a provider of retail development services, completed the design-build for online retailer JustFab.

    JustFab’s first brick-and-mortar flagship is a 3,000-sq.-ft. space at Glendale Galleria, in Glendale, Calif. Menemsha Solutions’ design team created a retail space cohesive with the brand’s online shopping experience. Custom lighting, video screens and niche displays were designed and applied to creatively showcase the product.

  • Burlington is coming to Northgate Mall

    Chattanooga, Tenn. — CBL & Associates Properties, Inc has announced that Burlington Coat Factory will locate its first and only store in Chattanooga at Northgate Mall. The new 63,000-sq.-ft store will stand between Sears and J.C. Penney. Shoppers will enter from the mall and from outside from the east parking lot.

    Several stores will relocate to accommodate the redevelopment. Plans call for construction to begin in January with the grand opening scheduled for October 2014.

  • Blo/Out Blow Dry Bar opens at Willow Grove Park

    Willow Grove, Pa. — Blo/Out Blow Dry Bar has opened its third area location at Willow Grove Park in Willow Grove, Pa., near Philadelphia. The no-appointment 1,300-sq.-ft. salon offers eight styling techniques plus Blo/Out Express, a 20-minute dry styling treatment.

  • Kay Jewelers opens at Plymouth Meeting Mall

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. — Kay Jewelers has opened a 1,400-sq.-ft. store at Plymouth Meeting Mall on the second level, just inside the mall nearest the restaurant plaza entrance.

    Owned, managed and leased by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust www.preit.com, the mall is anchored by Macy’s, Boscov’s and Whole Foods Market and Café.

    Uncle Julio’s Fine Mexican Food Restaurant will also open at Plymouth Meeting Mall during the 2013 holiday season.

     

  • Cole acquires part of Evergreen Marketplace

    Evergreen Park, Ill. — Cole Real Estate Investments has acquired a 49,225-sq.-ft. portion of the 450,000-sq.-ft. Evergreen Marketplace in Evergreen Park, Ill., for $9.9 million. Mid-America Real Estate Corporation represented the seller, Sterling Bay Companies.

    The center is located just north of the northwest corner of Western Avenue & 95th Street in the near Chicago suburb of Evergreen Park. Meijer, Menards, Michaels and Ross Dress for Less. Cole purchased the portion featuring Michaels and Ross.
