  • Actress Paula Patton tapped as brand ambassador for Ellen Tracy

    Sequential Brands Group has selected actress Paula Patton as the new face and brand ambassador for Ellen Tracy.

    Patton's role as brand ambassador begins this November when she will spearhead a global initiative to commemorate women's contributions during the last 65 years. The partnership coincides with seasonal collections and campaigns and extends throughout 2015.

  • DD’s Discounts opens first Louisiana store Sept. 27

    Dublin, Calif. – DD’s Discounts, a division of Ross Stores Inc. will open its first store in Louisiana on Sept. 27. The store is located in the Westside South Shopping Center in Gretna.

    Including this new location, DD’s Discounts will operate approximately 150 locations in 14 states and is on schedule to complete its expansion plan to open approximately 20 locations in 2014.

  • UsTrendy plans customer experience upgrades in Q4

    Boston – UsTrendy, a fashion e-commerce site with 20,000 designers from more than 100 countries posting their items for sale and receiving funding along with promotion for their clothing lines, is launching several new customer experience features in fourth quarter 2014.

    These include:

    Purchasers can customize clothing to fit by entering their measurements. They can also adjust the style of a garment, according to the designer’s choices.

  • Tiffany to issue $500 million in senior notes

    New York – Tiffany &Co. plans to offer two series of senior notes, one due in 2024 and one due in 20144, for a total of $500 million. The initial purchasers of the notes are expected to be Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc., Goldman, Sachs & Co., BNY Mellon Capital Markets LLC, J.P. Morgan and Mizuho Securities.

  • Sportsman’s Warehouse to open Colorado, Arizona stores

    Midvale, Utah - Sportsman's Warehouse is expanding with new locations in Sheridan, Colorado and Flagstaff, Arizona. The Sheridan store will be the fifth Sportsman's Warehouse location in the state of Colorado and the Flagstaff location will be the fourth location in the state of Arizona.

    Both of these stores are planned to open in the summer 2015. These locations are part of the eight new stores that Sportsman's Warehouse plans to open in 2015.

  • Ascena Retail Q4 results miss

    Mahwah, N.J. -- Ascena Retail Group Inc. on Monday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $15.7 million, compared with $29.8 million in the year-ago period. Its results missed Wall Street expectations.

    Revenues for the quarter were $1.18 billion, compared with $1.20 billion in the prior year. The company attributed the decrease challenging tween market conditions at Justice and inventory-related issues at Lane Bryant. Results were partially offset by positive comp growth at Maurices and Catherines and new store growth at Maurices.

  • Potomac Mills adds new retailers

    Woodbridge, Va. - Potomac Mills, an outlet and value retail shopping center in the Washington, D.C., area with more than 220 stores, is adding A|X Armani Exchange, Steve Madden, an outlet concept for Swarovski and a first-in-market location for Great American Cookies. Potomac Mills also recently added Factory Outlet, Kate Spade New York Outlet, Charlotte Russe and a first-in-state location for The Limited Outlet.

  • Spanx prepares for growth with leadership changes

    Recent executive leadership changes at Spanx have set the stage for change and a new phase of growth.

    The company has promoted Jill MacRae to EVP, global commerce. MacRae began her career at Spanx in sales, and most recently lead all aspects of product and consumer marketing development as the VP of marketing.
