  • NRF: Americans' Mother's Day spending to top $172

    Families this year are ready to splurge on jewelry, flowers, gift cards, brunch and apparel for mom.

    According to NRF’s 2015 Mother’s Day Spending Survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, Americans will spend an average of $172.63 on mom this year, up nearly $10 from $162.94 last year and the highest amount in the survey’s 12-year history. Total spending is expected to reach $21.2 billion.

    Kay Jewelers has launched an innovative jewelry collection designed to drive traffic to its stores this Mother’s Day.

    The retailer has created Miracle Links, a jewelry collection designed with interlinking circles to symbolize the special bond between a mother and her child, now available in select Kay Jewelers stores nationwide and on Kay.com.

  • Pandora opens shops in collaboration with Disney Parks and Resorts

    Baltimore -- Pandora Jewelry, in collaboration with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has opened dedicated shops within two Disney merchandise locations: Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and La Mascarade d'Orleans in Disneyland park in California.

    Both locations carry Pandora’s newly released spring 2015 Disney jewelry collection and the Disney Parks collection, as well as the brand’s full assortment of jewelry.

  • New retailers come to West Manchester Town Center

    York, Pa. – The revamped West Manchester Town Center is announcing the latest group of retailers to open there. DSW Inc. and Charming Charlie both opened in April, with GNC and Kay Jewelers expected to open in May.

    Ann Taylor Loft GameStop, Kirkland’s and Petco each opened during the winter months. Mall anchors Kohl’s, Regal Cinemas and Wal-Mart, along with Artesian Pools & Spas and USA Optical, have remained open throughout construction.

    Evine Live, the digital commerce company formerly known as ShopHQ, named Penny Burnett senior vice president and chief merchandising officer.

    In her new role, Burnett will report to Mark Bozek, CEO of Evine live, a digital commerce company that offers customers multiple ways to shop and interact via television, online and on mobile devices in merchandise categories such as home, beauty, health and fitness, fashion and accessories, jewelry and watches and consumer electronics.

  • Tiffany swings to Q4 profit: will open 12-15 stores

    New York – The elimination of a one-time adverse legal ruling helped Tiffany & Co. swing from loss to profit in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014, but a strengthening dollar hurt overall sales. Tiffany reported net earnings of $196 million, compared to a net loss of $104 million the same period a year earlier.

    However, worldwide net sales of $1.28 billion were down 1% from $1.3 billion, with the stronger U.S. dollar negatively impacting foreign sales results. Same-store sales dropped 4%.
