  • Cushman’s Schooler joins SRS as senior VP in Orlando

    Cindy Schooler has joined SRS Real Estate Partners as a senior VP in the Orlando, Florida, office directing landlord and tenant representation. She held a similar role with Cushman & Wakefield in Central Florida for the past two years.   Schooler has long experience in retail site selection, having spent eight years performing market analysis and negotiating leases for new restaurant concepts with Restaurant Partners in Orlando. She also spent five years as owner of Cynco Properties, a real estate broker.  
  • Coach names new chief of Stuart Weitzman brand

    Coach Inc. is appointing Wendy Kahn, as CEO and brand president – Stuart Weitzman, effective Sept. 13, 2016.   Kahn will succeed Wayne Kulkin, the brand’s current CEO, who will become a consultant to Coach. She joins the luxury retailer from Valentino Fashion Group, where she currently holds the position of CEO – Valentino, USA and V.F.G., USA & Canada. Previously, Kahn served as senior VP of sales, marketing & retail for Valentino from 2006-2008.  
  • ‘One-for-one’ brand to open at nation’s largest mall

    Toms Shoes is expanding its fledgling store portfolio, and will open a location at Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, in time for holiday shoppers.   Founded in 2006, Toms matches every shoe purchase with a donation to a child in need, and gives glasses, medical treatment and/or sight-saving surgery with each purchase of eyewear.  
  • Suitsupply and Kendra Scott to bow on San Jose’s Santana Row

    Eight new tenants have opened their doors at Silicon Valley’s Santana Row, a 1.7 million sq.-ft. multi-use property that includes a hotel and office and residential space.    Suitsupply, a European import, assumes the highest profile of the newcomers with a 4,425 sq.-ft. space. Jewelry retailer Kendra Scott and body and hair care specialist Aesop will inhabit spaces of just over 1,000 sq. ft.  
  • Saks Fifth Avenue, The Galleria, Houston

    Saks Fifth Avenue has relocated its store in Houston’s The Galleria, opening a larger space that offers the ultimate luxury department store experience.  
  • Robert Redford’s newest Sundance store opens in Oregon

    The lifestyle retailer named after the famous film festival started by Robert Redford continues to grow its retail footprint and has added a store in the Northwest. The Bridgeport Village shopping center in the Portland, OR., suburb of Tigard is the location of the newest Sundance store which offers women’s and men’s apparel, footwear, jewelrey, accessories, art, and home décor.
  • UGG celebrates 10th anniversary with trip to Disney

    The Disney Springs collection of retail and entertainment offerings in Lake Buena Vista, FL is home to the newest UGG brand flagship store.

  • CEO of Claire’s Stores resigns; replaced by industry vet

    Beatrice Lafon, the CEO of teen accessories retailer Claire's Stores, has resigned and been replaced by a current member of the board, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

  • David’s Bridal enters into its first franchise agreement

    David’s Bridal is expanding south of the border.

    The bridal and special occasion retailer is partnering with Diltex, a leading manufacturer and retailer of intimate apparel in Mexico, to open its first franchise location, in Mexico City.

    The store is expected to open by the end of 2016 with additional franchise locations planned to open over the next five years across the country.
