  • Peter Millar is coming to Madison Avenue in NYC

    New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP, of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have arranged a first New York flagship for luxury apparel and accessories brand Peter Millar on Madison Avenue, between 54th and 55th Streets.

    "This label is a perfect fit for the Madison and Worth Avenues of the world," said Consolo.

    Consolo and Aquino represented the landlord, E PLUS E LLC, and Hanley Advisors represented the tenant.

     

  • Express begins assault on outlets

    Mall-based specialty retailer Express opened its first outlet store at a Tanger outlet mall near Washington, D.C., and has plans for 30 more locations this year.

    The operator of 630 predominantly mall-based stores had previously shunned outlet locations, but now views the popular venues as a growth opportunity.

  • Mass market talent joins Vera Bradley design house

    Rosemary Ricketts and Steve Bohman, retail executives with extensive mass market experience, have joined upscale brand Vera Bradley in key roles.

    Ricketts was named vp of merchandising and Bohman was named vp of global production at the leading designer of women's handbags and accessories, luggage and travel items, eyewear, stationery and gifts.

  • Urban Outfitters names new president

    Urban Outfitters has named Trish Donnelly as president of Urban Outfitters brand, North America reporting directly to Ted Marlow, CEO, Urban Outfitters Group, effective July 14.

  • Sycamore splits Jones Group into four businesses; CEO Card to step down

    New York -- Sycamore Partners announced that it has reorganized the remaining businesses of The Jones Group into four independent operating companies: the Nine West Group, a jeanswear company (which will be named later), Jones New York, and the Kasper Group. Each will operate as an independent company led by its own management team. In line with the new decentralized structure, Wesley R. Card will step down as CEO and John T. McClain will step down as CFO of The Jones Group

  • New retail concept to debut in Manhattan

    New York -- A new retail concept, coop & spree, will open its first location this August, in the trendy Nolita section of Manhattan. Targeted at stylish young women, the store will combine apparel and accessory designers from around the world with interactive technologies. Digital tablets will be located throughout the space to help customers build and accessorize outfits, while the in-store photo booth will allow shoppers to share style inspiration with friends.

  • Dick’s opens three new stores April 25

    Pittsburgh – Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. opens three new stores on April 25. The stores are located in Lawton, Okla., Alabaster, Ala., and Tampa. Fla.

    The Lawton store will be located at Lawton Town Center, while the Alabaster store will be located at Colonial Promenade Alabaster and the Tampa store will be located at Westshore Plaza. As of April 25, Dick’s will operate 566 stores in the U.S., including 11 in Alabama, 27 in Florida and eight in Oklahoma.

     

  • Banana Republic teams up with Roland Mouret for limited-edition fall collection

    Banana Republic has teamed up with designer Roland Mouret to launch the Roland Mouret for Banana Republic Collection — a limited-edition collection that uses Banana Republic's signature Sloan contour stretch fabric.

    Mouret is best known for his feminine, hourglass fitted dresses.

  • Lane Bryant opens new stores in Minnesota, Texas

    Columbus, Ohio – Lane Bryant opens two new stores Friday, April 11. The stores are located at Burnsville Center in Burnsville, Minn., and Alliance Town Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

    Lane Bryant operates 775 stores nationwide and an e-commerce site.

     

  • Kohl’s Plaza in Holmdel, N.J., signs two new tenants

    Purchase, N.Y. National Realty & Development Corp. has announced that Flynn & O’Hara Uniforms and Advantage Health have inked leases in the 184,575-sq.-ft. Kohl’s Plaza in Holmdel, N.J.  

    The center is located at the intersections of Highway 35 and Union Avenue.
