  • IBM introduces new Watson app partners, HQ, Bluemix services

    Armonk, N.Y. – IBM is introducing new partners developing apps based on its Watson artificial intelligence platform and world headquarters for its Watson Group, as well as new cognitive services that will be available on IBM Bluemix, IBM's cloud-based platform for mobile and Web app development.

  • ChannelAdvisor: Amazon, EBay same-stores sales soar in September

    Morrisville. N.C. – Same-store sales soared at Amazon.com and EBay during September 2014. According to e-commerce technology provider ChannelAdvisor, Amazon's September same-store sales growth came in at 37.9%, a decrease compared to August's 45.1%.  

    Even with a decrease from August to September, 37.9% is more than twice the growth rate of e-commerce.

  • Shoppes at Chino Hills names GM

    Chino Hills, Calif. -- PM Realty Group announced that Jeff Rieger has been named general manager for The Shoppes at Chino Hills in Chino Hills, California. PMRG has provided leasing and management services to The Shoppes at Chino Hills since 2008 and has led the repositioning efforts for the 380,000-sq.-ft. lifestyle center.

    Grapevine, Texas -- GameStop announced the first in a series of updates to its GameStop app on mobile devices, and a chance for users who download the new app to win 1,000,000 PowerUp Rewards points.

  • Report: Amazon to open store in NYC for holidays

    New York -- Amazon plans to open its first-ever physical store, across from the Empire State Building in mid-town Manhattan, the Wall Street Journal reported. It's been rumored for years that the online giant was looking to open brick-and-mortar locations.

  • Premier Store Fixtures names CEO

    Hauppauge, N.Y. - Premier Store Fixtures, a provider of interior fixtures for the retail industry, has appointed Richard Winter as CEO and a member of the board of directors. Winter has more than 25 years of senior executive experience in the store fixtures industry, including serving as the sector president of The Marmon Group’s retail services division.

  • Destination Maternity sales disappoint in Q4

    Philadelphia – Net sales at Destination Maternity Corp. dropped 5% to $122 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014, from $128.3 million the same quarter a year earlier. Same-store sales, including Internet sales, declined 5%.

    Net sales declined primarily from the decrease in same-store sales and decreased sales related to the company's continued efforts to close underperforming stores. Sales results were below previously released guidance.
