  • Focus on Energy program gives Walgreens $500,000 incentive for energy upgrades

    Madison, Wis. -- Focus on Energy, Wisconsin utilities' statewide program for energy efficiency and renewable energy, recognized Walgreens’ strong efforts in 2013 for reducing its energy usage across Wisconsin through the Chain Stores and Franchises Program.

    Focus on Energy recently presented Walgreens representatives with a $500,000 incentive check at the Edison Electric Institute National Key Accounts Workshop in Orlando, Fla.

  • CVS/pharmacy announces departure of CMO

    Woonsocket, R.I. — Rob Price, senior VP marketing and advertising and chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy, has left the company to pursue a new role.   

    “Rob led the retail marketing team during a period of tremendous growth and strong financial performance and brought numerous positive changes to the business. We thank Rob for his important contributions and wish him the best of luck in the next phase of his career,” the company stated.

  • AutoNation drives higher net income, revenue during Q1

    Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – AutoNation Inc. reported net income of $91 million during the first quarter of fiscal 2014, about 10% higher than $83 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue totaled $4.4 billion, up 7% from $4.1 billion.

    Revenue increases resulted from stronger performance in all business sectors, including new vehicles, used vehicles, parts and service, and finance and insurance.

  • Urban Outfitters names former J. Crew exec as president of namesake brand

    Philadelphia -- Urban Outfitters Inc. has appointed Trish Donnelly to the role of president of Urban Outfitters brand, North America, effective July 14. She will report directly to Ted Marlow, CEO, Urban Outfitters Group.

  • Tractor Supply names VP store operations

    Brentwood, Tenn. -- Tractor Supply Company announced that Lee Downing has been promoted to executive VP store operations, effective April 14. In conjunction with his promotion, he will assume added leadership responsibilities for the company's real estate team.

    In addition to leading the store operations and store support administration teams, Downing will be responsible for the strategic new store site selection, facilitation of store openings and ongoing maintenance, in addition to other real estate functions.

  • Banana Republic names new creative director

    San Francisco - Banana Republic has named fashion designer Marissa Webb as creative director and executive VP of design, effective April 28. She will be responsible for guiding the brand’s overall creative direction, as well as leading global product design for Banana Republic women’s, men’s, and accessories.

  • Gap details omni-channel strategy, global growth

    San Francisco -- Gap Inc. highlighted its use of technology and innovation to bridge the growing digital world with its physical stores at the company’s annual meeting with investors. In new initiatives, the retailer is expanding its reserve in-store service to all U.S. Gap stores by the end of the second quarter, enabling online and mobile shoppers to now reserve items at more than 1,000 Gap and Banana Republic store locations.
