  • Lumber Liquidators has solid Q4; will open 30-40 stores

    Toano, Va. – Lumber Liquidators reported impressive results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2013. For the quarter, net income increased 50.6% to $20.8 million, from $13.8 million in the fourth quarter of the prior year.

    Net sales increased $47.8 million to $258.4 million in fourth quarter 2013, from $210.7 million in fourth quarter 2012. Same-store sales increased 15.6% for the quarter, driven by an 8.6% increase in the number of customers invoiced and a 7% increase in the average sale.

  • Lumber Liquidators eyes growth after record Q4 results

    A highly fragmented market and inconsistent customer demand — thanks, in large part, to inclement weather — were not enough to dampen Lumber Liquidators’ results in the fourth quarter.

    The company achieved record highs for net sales and operating margin and continues to gain further traction in its key, multi-year strategic initiatives.

    For the quarter, net income increased 50.6% to $20.8 million, from $13.8 million in the fourth quarter of the prior year.

  • Isaac Mizrahi to open in suburban Atlanta

    New York — Xcel Brands has announced the opening of the Isaac Mizrahi New York store in Woodstock, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta. The 2,000-sq.-ft. shop will open on March 29.

    Xcel Brands acquires, designs, licenses and markets consumer brands through an omnichannel sales strategy that includes interactive media, digital and brick-and-mortar retail. In 2011, the company acquired the Isaac Mizrahi New York designer apparel brand and an interest in Liz Claiborne

     

  • J.M. Smucker exec steps into director role at Foot Locker

    Foot Locker has elected Steven Oakland, president of international, foodservice and natural foods at the J.M. Smucker Company, as a director of the company.

    Oakland has spent the bulk of his career at J.M. Smucker serving in increasingly senior positions. He has experience in domestic and international retail operations at the company, having also served as president of U.S. retail for Smucker's, Jif and Hungry Jack, and as GM of its Canadian operations.

  • Heinen’s to Bannockburn Green in Bannockburn, Ill.

    Chicago — Heinen’s Fine Foods has leased a 61,965 sq. ft. anchor location at the Bannockburn Green community center in Bannockburn, Ill., according to CBRE, which assisted in the lease negotiations.

    The 151,206-sq.-ft. center serves Deerfield, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Lincolnshire and Bannockburn. The center’s retail lineup includes Walgreen’s, Erehwon Mountain Outfitters, Sleepy’s, Panera Bread and GNC.

    New York -- Revionics, a provider of end-to-end merchandise optimization solutions, appointed the company’s president and CEO Marc Hafner as chairman of the board.

    Hafner has served as president and CEO since 2010 and with this newly added role he will lead the company’s strategic planning and accelerate its global growth.
