Two leadership promotions at GENCO

2/19/2014

GENCO, a product lifecycle logistics solutions company, has promoted Mike Simpson to president of GENCO’s retail logistics business unit and Tom Perry to chief technology officer.

As president of GRL, Simpson assumes Perry’s leadership role for GENCO’s second largest business unit. In his new role, Simpson will ensure that GRL’s business execution is aligned to support its significant growth plans. Throughout his more than 14 years with GENCO, Simpson has assumed increasingly important operations positions, including most recently as SVP of operations for GRL.

As chief technology officer, Perry will lead GENCO’s IT organization and newly established R&D/robotics team. He will focus on leveraging technology to assist all of GENCO’s business units in achieving their business strategies. Perry has been with GENCO for more than 18 years serving in increasingly important roles, including as president of GRL for the past five years. Under his leadership, GRL’s business has increased 180%, the company said.

“We are extremely fortunate to have the depth of leadership talent to promote into these key positions,” said Herb Shear, GENCO’s executive chairman.
