    Newell Rubbermaid is consolidating its marketing efforts and picking one lead creative partner and one lead media-buying partner to help oversee the company’s global advertising and promotion investment.

  • Tile Shop appoints Best Buy exec as COO

    Rochester, Minn. - Tile Shop Holdings has appointed Chris Homeister to the newly created position of COO, effective immediately. In this role, Homeister will oversee supply chain, retail operations and merchandising.

    Homeister previously served as the GM and senior VP of Best Buy's Entertainment Business Group, where he led all elements of this multi-billion dollar business across retail and online channels.

  • Law firms investigate Lumber Liquidators

    New York – At least four law firms have launched investigations of Lumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc. following a raid by federal agencies on Lumber Liquidators’ Virginia offices in connection with the importation of certain wood-flooring products. The law firms of Pomerantz Grossman Hufford Dahlstrom & Gross LLP, Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC, The Shuman Law Firm, and Wohl & Fruchter LLP are all investigating whether Lumber Liquidators has committed federal securities violations.

  • JC's 5 Star Outlet to close doors

    After more than 50 years in business, JC's 5 Star Outlet/J.C. Penney Outlet will be closing all 15 outlet stores in 14 states. 

    "Going Out of Business" or "Total Inventory Blowout" sales will start Wednesday in each outlet store, offering consumers $70 million worth of name brand and private label products at significant discounts from the already low outlet prices of 25-75% off comparative retail.

  • Leslie’s Poolmart going to Portsmouth’s Academy Crossing

    Virginia Beach, Va. — Leslie’s Poolmart has signed a lease for 5,200 sq. ft. in the Academy Crossing Shopping Center in Portsmouth, Va. Divaris Real Estate represented the landlord, Midlantic Builders VA in the transaction.

    Other tenants at Academy Crossing include Coldwell Banker, Gymboree, Beadworks, Serenity Nails and Rita’s Pizza.

    Sherwin-Williams is releasing ColorSnap Glass, a new consumer app for Google Glass. Developed for Sherwin-Williams by digital marketing agency Resource, ColorSnapp Glass provides a digital layer of color samples customers can view using the Google Glass device.

  • The Container Store to go public

    New York -- The Container Store late Monday filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public stock offering.

    The retailer, which operator of 62 stores in 22 states with annual sales of $702 million,  said it sees the potential for  c as many as 300 U.S. Locations,  with international growth also a possibility. It expects to open six stores during the current fiscal year and seven stores next year.

    Cleveland – Sherwin-Williams is releasing a new consumer app for Google Glass, called ColorSnap Glass. Developed for Sherwin-Williams by digital marketing agency Resource, ColorSnapp Glass provides a digital layer of color samples customers can view using the Google Glass device.
