  • RCP announces $300 million mixed-use development

    Atlanta -- RCP Companies announced a $300 million, experiential, mixed-use development in the heart of Henry County known as Jodeco|Atlanta South in Atlanta. Construction is expected to commence later this year with initial tenants opening doors in 2017.

    Preliminary plans for the mixed-use development include retail and restaurants, an entertainment hub, amphitheatre, outdoor fitness and recreation areas and residences within an amenity-rich, urban district.

  • Groupon hits sales milestone

    Online deal provider Groupon has joined an elite group – companies that have sold one billion products.

    In Groupon’s case, the product is also known as a “Groupon,” or a limited-time, localized online promotion. It took Groupon, which launched in October 2008, roughly seven-and-a-half years to reach the billion-Groupon mark.

  • Key Corner in Gaslamp Quarter to be redeveloped

    San Diego -- OliverMcMillan announced plans to transform the former theatre building at 5th Avenue and G Street located in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego.

    “Our vision is to revitalize this active corner perfectly situated in the heart of the Gaslamp. Redeveloping this prime site will provide Downtown more opportunities to engage our local community and tourists alike,” said Dene Oliver, CEO of OliverMcMillan.

  • Outlets on fire as occupancy rates set new record

    So much for the argument that the U.S. market is saturated with retail stores and e-commerce is hurting mall traffic. Tanger Factory Outlet Centers brought four new properties online in 2015 and still managed to achieve a portfolio occupancy rate in excess of 95% for the 35th consecutive year.

  • Closter Plaza revitalization brings new line-up of tenants

    Closter, N.J. -- EDENS announced that Closter Plaza, located in Closter, New Jersey, will have a new lineup of stores that cater to foodies, fashionistas and families this spring. The openings will coincide with the center's long-anticipated revitalization by leading retail developer.

  • Store design competition finalists revealed

    The Retail Design Institute has revealed the finalists for its 45th Annual International Store Design Awards Program.

    All the awards, including the highly anticipated Store of the Year Award, will be revealed, and bestowed on the honorees, at the Institute’s annual Awards Gala on March 12, 2016, at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas. For more information and to buy tickets, click here.

  • Starbucks in overhaul of popular loyalty program

    It’s not going to be so easy for the 11 million-plus active members of Starbuck Corp.’s loyalty program to earn freebies.

    Starting in mid-April, the coffee giant is making a change in its “My Starbucks Rewards” loyalty program whereby members will earn points, or “stars,” based on the dollars spent on the purchase. Currently, customers earn a star for each transaction, regardless of how much they spent, and are entitled to a free item after earning 12 stars.

  • Crawford Hoying announces retailers for Bridge Park development

    Dublin, Ohio -- Crawford Hoying announced that they have completed two leases totaling 18,900 sq. ft. of retail space in its Bridge Park development for The RAM Restaurant & Brewery (The RAM) and Mesh Fitness.
