  • NRF: Super Bowl spending on the rise

    Washington, D.C. – An estimated 184 million viewers will watch Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, Feb. 1. According to NRF’s Super Bowl Spending Survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, average viewer spending will reach a survey high of $77.88, up from $68.27 in 2013.

    Total spending is expected to reach $14.3 billion. Young adults ages 18-24 plan on spending an average of $95.92; those ages 25-34 and 35-44, however, will spend slightly more at an average of $101.54 and $102.82, respectively.

  • Chuck E. Cheese’s taps Ecova for utility expense, data management services

    Spokane, Wash. -- Ecova announced it has been selected Chuck E. Cheese’s to provide utility expense and data management services. Ecova will assist the dining and entertainment company in monitoring, understanding and reducing energy use at approximately 525 locations nationwide.

  • Mid-America handles sale of Carillon Court

    Romeoville, Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Carillon Court located in Romeoville, Illinois. Scottsdale-based Sand Capital purchased the 29,209-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center.

    Carillon Court is located at the northwest corner of 135th and Weber Road in the Chicago MSA. The center is tenanted by Allstate Insurance, Comcast, Stella’s Bar & Grill, Essential Chiropractic Center, and more.

  • Madison Marquette names senior managing director-portfolio management

    Washington, D.C. -- Madison Marquette announced that Brad Muth has joined the company as senior managing director, portfolio management. With more than 25 years of real estate investment experience, Muth will oversee portfolio management and asset management functions for Madison Marquette. He will be based in the San Francisco office.

  • Mid-America arranges $2 million sale of Columbian Retail Shops

    Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of The Columbian Retail Shops in Chicago. Chicago-based Newcastle Limited purchased the 6,600-sq.-ft., two-tenant retail property for $2 million.

    The Columbian Retail Shops is located at the northwest corner of South Michigan Avenue and East Roosevelt Road in Chicago. The center features retailers Burger Bar and Elements Therapeutic Massage.

  • Chuck E. Cheese’s kicks up omnichannel promotion

    Irving, Texas – Chuck E. Cheese’s is running a dance-themed omnichannel promotion featuringYouTube stars Shaniah Jones and D’Squared Live. Kids can win free tickets by learning to “do the Chuck E.,” an original dance, at Chuck E. Cheese’s locations.

  • Paster Properties renovating Northway Center

    St. Paul, Minn. -- Paster Properties announced that Northway Center is undergoing major interior and exterior renovations, scheduled to be completed summer 2015. The 92,197-sq.-ft. center is located in Lexington, Minnesota.

  • Walgreens legal head leaving for exec role at Hertz

    Deerfield, Ill. - Thomas Sabatino Jr., executive VP, global chief legal and administrative officer, Walgreens Boots Alliance, will be leaving the company to join Hertz Global Holdings effective Feb.9. Sabatino will join Hertz Global Holdings as senior executive VP, chief administrative officer and general counsel.

    Sabatino will remain in his current role with Walgreens Boots Alliance through the end of January to ensure a smooth transition of his current responsibilities. The company expects to announce his successor at that time.
