  • Marcus announces tenants for Corners of Brookfield

    Milwaukee — The Marcus Corporation has announced the initial line-up of tenants at The Corners of Brookfield, an open-air, town-center-style development in Brookfield, Wis. The mixed-use 460,000-sq.-ft. development will be anchored by Wisconsin’s first Von Maur department store, which will span 140,000 sq. ft.

    The announcement followed a vote by the Brookfield Board approving the development agreement between the town and Marcus. The agreement provides for tax incremental financing for the project.

  • Corner Bakery Cafe launches online ordering

    Dallas -- Corner Bakery Café has launched a nationwide online ordering system, allowing patrons to place their orders in advance online so their food is waiting for them at the counter.

    To order, customers visit Corner Bakery Café’s website, browse the menu by category and make their selections for in-store pick-up. A filter option allows each guest to make their menu choice based on calorie count and includes gluten-friendly, vegetarian, vegan and low-fat selectors.

  • Togo’s enters Tempe, Ariz., with first restaurant

    Tempe, Ariz. -- Togo's Eateries has opened its first restaurant in Tempe, Ariz., owned by current Togo's franchisees, Monty and Diana Coury, who opened the first Togo's restaurant in Gilbert, Ariz., last year.

    "Since opening our first restaurant in Gilbert, we've seen a tremendous amount of support from the community and there is still a huge potential for growth in the market,” said Monty Coury.

    Los Angeles -- John Dawson has been named president and CEO of coffee and tea retailer Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, charged with accelerating the chain’s plans for global growth.

  • Quaker Steak & Lube to develop restaurants in Nebraska and Iowa

    Sharon, Pa. -- Casual-dining brand Quaker Steak & Lube announced an area development agreement with Bosselman Food Services to open two locations in Nebraska and one in Iowa, which will mark the brand's entrance into the state of Nebraska. Bosselman Food Services plans to open one Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant per year in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

    "We look forward to the opening of our first restaurant next year, and are excited for a great future with Quaker Steak & Lube," said Charlie Bosselman, president of the Bosselman Cos.

  • Domino’s offers Facebook promotion

    Ann Arbor, Mich. – Domino’s is running a special global Facebook promotion giving customers in 42 countries a 50% discount on menu-priced pizza ordered online. Through Dec. 8, customers can visit their country’s Domino’s Facebook page to see if they can redeem the offer.

  • Report: McDonald’s launches app in New England, Albany areas

    Oak Brook, Ill. – McDonald’s is reportedly making its free “McD” mobile app available to customers in the New England/Albany, N.Y. market. According to the Boston Globe, New England/Albany is the third market where McDonald’s has released the McD app, which is available for both iPhones and Android smartphones.

  • Starbucks prices $750 million of senior notes

    Seattle – Starbucks has priced an underwritten public offering of senior notes. The company plans to use the net proceeds from the offering of $400 million of 0.875% senior notes due 2016 and $350 million of 2.000% senior notes due 2018 to fund a portion of the payment required by the previously announced arbitration award in the Kraft litigation matter.
