  • Report: Facebook caters to hungry members

    There’s a new Facebook icon that users are sure to “like:” a food ordering service.   Rolling out to select users, Facebook’s new “Order Food” option can be found on its navigation menu — both online and mobile app. The service aggregates all supported restaurants together on one page, making it easier for Facebook users to place orders with their favorite restaurants, according to TechCrunch.

    Retailers who want a prime location but also one that’s affordable should check out Philadelphia, Chicago and Seattle.  
  • Wahlburgers opens at center on Vegas Strip

    Those crazy actin’ and burger-flippin’ Wahlbergs Mark and Donny, along with brother Paul and other family members, have opened at Grand Bazaar Shops on the Las Vegas Strip.   The new center located on Bally’s doorstep and across from the Bellagio picked the busiest intersection Vegas to place a culinary assemblage of the hottest new names in casual dining that are beginning to spread to malls and open-air centers nationwide.  
  • Rascal Flatts to land at Celebration Pointe

    Rascall Flats will be appearing in an extended engagement, band members hope, in Gainesville, Florida.   The famed country band chose Celebration Pointe, an under-development town center heavy on dining and entertainment options, as the site for one of the first Rascall Flatts Bar & Grills The very first is due to open in Cleveland, with Los Angeles and Connecticut to follow.  
  • New Jersey town center changes hands

    The Azarian Group has acquired The Livingston Town Center in Livingston, New Jersey in a $21.2 million trade arranged by Cushman Wakefield.   The 11-year-old lifestyle retail property houses a diverse mix of 28 restaurants and shops, including Fan Bistro, an upscale Asian spot, Restore Cold Pressed Juices, and Dentistry with a Smile. Fit 36 and Xtend Barre are scheduled to open there soon.    
  • Fast-food giant’s delivery service expands

    More hungry customers can now get their Big Macs, fries, beverages and desserts delivered right to their door.   As of Wednesday, May 17, McDonald’s is expanding its delivery service to customers in Los Angeles, Chicago, Columbus and Phoenix. Through its partnership with UberEats, the company’s “McDelivery” program now encompasses up to 1,000 restaurants in the United States.  
  • Chicago to be home to world’s first…

    Nutella is setting up shop on Michigan Avenue.   Ferrero, the makers of the popular hazelnut spread, will open their first owned and operated restaurant, Nutella Café, on May 31. The two-level café is located one block from Millennium Park.  
  • Crayola Experience boosts Texas center conversion

    The story of the reinvention of a mall into a multi-use development got more colorful this week.   Crayola Experience announced it will place its fourth U.S. location in The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Texas, a Starwood mall that is adding a seven-story office tower, an expanded dining district, and the North Texas Performing Arts Center in a top-to-bottom transformation.
