  • Construction to add 9,100 sq. ft. of new retail space at Seminole Shoppes

    Neptune Beach, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has started construction on an additional 9,100-sq.-ft. building at Seminole Shoppes, located in Neptune Beach, Fla., for six new side shops.

    Leases have already been signed with Hurricane Grill & Wings for 2,940 sq. ft. and TCBY for 1,400 sq. ft. in the new building, slated for completion in late spring.

  • Tilden Ridge Shopping Center celebrates grand opening

    Tilden, Pa. -- Metro Commercial Real Estate announced Wednesday that Tilden Ridge, a 400,000-sq.-ft. regional shopping center located in Hamburg, Pa., and anchored by a Wal-Mart Supercenter and Lowe’s Home Improvement, had its grand opening on March 15.

    The shopping center, owned by West Conshohocken, Pa.-based Ironwood Property Group, is 98% pre-leased and includes, besides Walmart and Lowe’s, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Logan’s Roadhouse, GameStop, Pet Supplies Plus, Sleepy’s and Schuylkill Valley Sports.
     

  • Scheels to open 220,000-sq.-ft. store in Sandy, Utah

    New York City -- Sporting goods retailer Scheels will open a 220,000-sq.-ft. store in Sandy, Ohio. The store, which will be located at a new development to be called One Fourteen, will feature a 65-ft.-tall Ferris wheel, a 16,000-gallon salt-water aquarium, and “sports simulators” for golf, soccer, hockey, baseball, football and basketball.

    Scheels operates 23 stores in eight states. The new Ohio location is expected to open in the fall of 2012.

  • Tommy Bahama names SVP marketing

    SEATTLE -- Terry Pillow, CEO of the Tommy Bahama Group, has announced the appointment of Rob Goldberg as SVP marketing. Goldberg, who joined Tommy Bahama in 2010 as SVP restaurants, will continue to oversee the restaurant operations in addition to his new duties. Goldberg will continue to be based at the company's Seattle headquarters. The appointment is effective immediately.

  • Advance Auto extends lease at 25th St. Shopping Center

    Easton, Pa. -- New York City-based The Lightstone Group said that Advance Auto Parts has signed a seven-year, 9,000-sq.-ft. lease extension at 25th Street Shopping Center in Easton, Pa.

    The 25th Street Shopping Center is a 131,000-sq.-ft. retail strip corridor home to CVS, RadioShack, Petco, Retro Fitness, Jenny Craig, McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Sherwin-Williams.

  • LaVida Massage opens at Hills shopping center

    Austin, Texas -- Commerce, Mich.-based LaVida Massage announced the opening of its first Texas location, in Austin, on Feb. 28.

    Located at the Hills shopping center, the 2,600-sq.-ft. facility features nine massage rooms.

  • Power Plant Live!

    As part of the multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion of Power Plant Live! in Baltimore, The Cordish Cos. announced that entertainment concepts PBR Baltimore and The Baltimore Comedy Factory hosted grand openings the first two weekends in March. 

    These latest downtown destinations join the recently opened Tatu Asian Grill in the restaurant, entertainment and office district that is now going on its 12th year of operations.

  • CBL malls in the Midwest give back through National Random Acts of Kindness Week

    Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL & Associates Properties said that eleven of its malls in the Midwestern U.S. handed out 6,000 gifts during National Random Acts of Kindness week, Feb. 14-20.

    The program is designed to give back to the community and support local nonprofit groups.
