Mall of America is offering mystery prizes to its first 4,000 visitors on Black Friday.
Mall of America is welcoming its shoppers on Black Friday by giving away mystery prizes worth more than $100,000.
When the mall opens at 7 a.m. on the shopping holiday, 4,000 visitors who enter through the North entrance will be given one of a Black Friday Mystery Card, which will reveal what prize is in store for them and where they will receive it. Shoppers will either be directed to pick up their prize at one of the mall’s retailers, or they will be sent to the gold redemption center for a prize valued between $20 to $250.
The big winners of the mystery card giveaway will head to the new Doorbuster Zone, where guests will get to select their designated doorbuster to bust through a physical door to retrieve a prize valued between $250 to nearly $600.
“Black Friday has evolved through the years, but many of us remember the heyday of Black Friday doorbusters,” said Jill Renslow, chief business development & marketing officer at Mall of America. “To bring back the doorbuster excitement, we created a one-of-a-kind Black Friday activation with must-have prizes that guests have to see to believe. We have welcomed nearly 20 new brands so far this year, and we have an additional 10 openings during the holiday season for our shoppers to enjoy.”
The first 200 people in line at the North Entrance of the Mall on Black Friday will receive a $25 Mall of America gift card in addition to their Mystery Card. One winner within the first 200 guests will be the “Wondrous Wonka Winner,” and will receive a $2,500 gift card courtesy of the upcoming “Wonka” movie, which hits theaters on Dec. 15.
