Kohl’s back-to-school plans include ‘thousands’ of items under $25
Kohl’s Corp.’s back-to-school bush include an immersive pop-up experience, a high-energy marketing campaign, an AI-powered shopping assistant and a focus on savings.
The department store retailer said it is offering “thousands” of products under $25 as the critical back-to-school shopping season kicks off amid ongoing economic uncertainty and shoppes remain promotion-minded. Kohl’s assortment includes national brands such as Nike and Levi’s to its own “By Kohl’s” brands such as SO, Tek Gear, FLX, and Jumping Beans. The company's "Deal Bar," which it launched earlier this year, features organization solutions, food storage, desk accessories and room décor for $10 and under.
Kohl's said it is making it easier to shop with curated, style-led displays, clear signage, and new digital tools, including its AI-powered shopping assistant. The new tool is designed to give customers personalized product guidance, outfit inspiration, and recommendations throughout their back-to-school journey.
Pop-Up
Kohl’s back-to-school plans also include an immersive pop-up experience in New York City in August. The “Kohl's So-Back Studio” pop-up will offer product customization, interactive content creation, exclusive shopping incentives and more. Kohl’s will also bring elements of the experience to shoppers through sweepstakes and social extensions throughout the season.
Marketing
The retailer said its "We are so back (to school)." marketing campaign is designed to celebrate the confidence, excitement and self-expression that come with heading into a new school year. New broadcast spots are set to a high-energy track from teen fave Charli XCX. The campaign features the return of the Kohl’s “Mom,” portrayed by actress Ellie Kemper, alongside teens showcasing the season’s must-have brands and trends.
Kohl’s is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to provide $165,000 in grants to clubs across the country. Through the Kohl’s Cares Shopping Grant program, 165 Clubs nationwide will each receive $1,000 to outfit youth in the latest styles.
Kohl's operates more than 1,100 stores in 49 states.
