JD Sports banners mobile-enable POS and 'endless aisle' inventory

JD Sports banners are equipping store associates with mobile capabilities.

Two retailers recently acquired by JD Sports are leveraging mobile devices to digitally place orders and perform checkout in-store.

DTLR, a youth-oriented activewear retailer, and Shoe Palace, a footwear and apparel chain, are deploying the Jumpmind Commerce and Inventory solutions on Adyen Castle S1E2L Android “all-in-one” devices across a combined 450 store locations nationwide.

DTLR and Shoe Palace are banners of JD Sports, a global British athletic retailer with more than 3,000 stores in 32 territories worldwide. JD Sports is organizing its retail technology around composable architecture a cloud-based collection of integrated, best-of-breed solutions designed to promote agility, innovation and flexibility.

The two retailers will leverage Jumpmind Commerce to support mobile POS and Jumpmind Inventory to engage seamlessly with customers throughout the store and  provide “endless aisle” customer fulfillment through seamless integration with existing order management systems. 

“The move to Jumpmind Commerce for Point of Sale on mobile devices is part of a larger initiative to modernize our stores and elevate the shopping experience for our customers,” said DTLR CEO Todd Kirssin. “We’re moving to larger store footprints so we can carry more of the hottest sportswear and streetwear brands; mobilizing access to information and processes will help associates stay close to customers and provide a rich and rewarding shopping experience.”

In addition, the retailers can offer multi-language and multi-currency support via Jumpmind Commerce. The JD Sports Canada banner has also deployed a variety of cloud-based enterprise solutions to enable capabilities such as endless aisle assortment and mobile checkout.
