Indiana grocer Strack & Van Til personalizes customer engagement

Strack & Van Til is connecting with customer profiles to enable omnichannel personalization.

The Indiana-based grocery retailer is building on an existing implementation of customer intelligence technology from Birdzi (see more below) by adding the Birzi Visper Live shopper engagement and outreach solution. 

Since initially implementing Visper Live in fall 2023, the retailer has realized a 54% increase in customer retention rate by 54%, and email campaigns based on the solution were opened at a 66.7% rate. 

In addition, Strack & Van Til can use the solution to continuously generate new campaigns and engage with multiple defined audiences on a weekly basis, as well as seamlessly deliver personalized online and mobile offers leveraging its entire catalog, historical purchasing patterns and proprietary Bridzi shopper quality scores.

Strack & Van Til is in the process of being acquired by Iowa-based regional grocery chain Hy-Vee Inc.

The grocer had already been utilizing an integration of the Birdzi Customer Intelligence Platform and LOC Software POS solution to obtain real-time transaction data to support automatic coupon selection that is specific to the needs of each individual shopper.

Strack & Van Til had been deploying the two solutions separately but was looking for new ways to personalize the types of coupons customers received and track redemption in real time.

Through the integration, information can flow freely from Strack & Van Til’s LOC Software POS system to its Birdzi customer intelligence platform. As a result, customers receive highly ersonalized promotions that the grocer hopes will further develop its relationship with its shoppers.
