Ikea to celebrate 40 years in the U.S. with 40 weeks of promotions

A Swedish furniture and home decor giant is celebrating a key milestone with nine months of promotions.

Ikea U.S. is launching a 40-week long customer appreciation campaign in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Now through June 29, customers can take advantage of exclusive product offers, gift card giveaways, limited-edition Ikea apparel, and special in-store events.

"Since opening our first U.S. store in 1985, we've grown and adapted to meet the evolving needs of our customers," said Jordi Esquinas Gimenez, chief commercial officer at IKEA U.S. "What remains constant is our commitment to making well-designed, high-quality home furnishings affordable and accessible. This campaign is our way of celebrating our customers – thanking them for 40 years of trust and looking ahead to what we can build together in the future."

Key highlights of the 40-week celebration at Ikea include the following:

  • 40 Weeks of Deals From Sept. 24, 2025 through June 29, 2026, customers can access new promotions across Ikea’s product range, available in-store and online at Ikea.us.
  • Daily Gift Card Sweepstakes From Sept. 3-23, Ikea Family and Ikea Business Network members can enter to win Ikea gift cards valued up to $500. Drawings will be held three times daily at each store.
  • Restaurant Offers Guests can enjoy 40% off meatball entrées and frozen meatballs from Sept. 3–23. Then, from Sept. 24 to Oct. 28, a throwback 1985 meatball plate will be available for just $2.99.
  • NYTILLVERKAD Donation Campaign Between Sept. 3-27, Ikea will donate 40% of sales from the NYTILLVERKAD collection to Family Promise, Inc., supporting families facing homelessness.
  • AURTIENDE Collection Launch A limited-edition, in-store-only collection of apparel and accessories designed for Ikea fans will be available during the celebration.
  • In-Store 40th  Anniversary Event On Sept. 27, customers are invited to join Ikea stores nationwide for a special day of food tastings, workshops, product demos, and a complimentary breakfast plate for Ikea Family members.
