Gopuff partners with entertainer Druski for branding, products

    Druski Gopuff

Gopuff’s latest celebrity collaboration is with award-winning comedian, actor and entrepreneur Druski.

As part of the multi-year strategic partnership, Druski will work with on-demand delivery platform Gopuff to unveil exclusive products and create special consumer experiences tailored to his audience. Druski will also take an equity stake in Gopuff and work to broaden the company’s reach through his Coulda Been Records and 4Lifers Entertainment properties.

Gopuff will leverage its commerce and distribution capabilities to help Druski bring products and experiences inspired by his creative projects directly to consumers. The company launched its first celebrity partnership with seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady, a Gopuff investor, in 2024.

Druski’s initial joint effort with Gopuff occurred when he joined Brady in Gopuff’s fall 2025 “Hard Pass” promotional campaign advocating to make the Monday after the Super Bowl a national holiday.

“Gopuff has always been my go-to platform, so partnering together felt like a natural next fit,” said Druski. “I’ve watched Gopuff redefine the commerce industry and I’m proud to bring my creative ideas to the table and work together with the team to deliver unique products and experiences for their consumers.”

Other Gopuff celebrity partners have included star pro basketball player Giannis Antetokuompo and U.K. soccer star Cole Palmer. The company says it is seeking to expand its role as a build-and-distribution partner for celebrities seeking to launch and scale brands of their own.

“We see this as a true creative and commercial partnership,” said Yakir Gola, co-CEO and co-founder of Gopuff. “Our role is not to simply appear in Druski’s world, but to help add to it, while building entirely new ones together.”

Philadephia-based Gopuff operates its own micro-fulfillment centers and offers more than 5,000 products delivered in as fast as 15 minutes across the U.S. and U.K.

Target denies any involvement with ICE

    Target storefront

Target Corp. said it is not working with federal immigration authorities in response to criticism following the shooting of a man by an ICE agent down the street from one of its stores in New York City.

U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and local immigration rights activists accused Target of letting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement use the store's two-level parking lot as a staging area for operations in the area. The store is located in the Shops at Marble Hill shopping center on West 225th Street, near the border of Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. The other tenants include Foot Locker, Marshalls, Starbucks and CVS Pharmacy.

"Target has no cooperative agreements with ICE or any other immigration enforcement agency,” a Target spokesperson said in emailed comments to Chain Store Age.

Kingsbridge Associates, an affiliate of Washington Square Partners, owns and operates The Shops at Marble Hill center. The week before the shooting occurred, city officials sent a letter to Kingsbridge asking that it terminate any agreements with ICE to use the center’s parking lot, reported The New York Times. Kingsbridge did not immediately respond to a request for comment, the report said.

The shooting occurred as ICE officers tried to arrest Dominican immigrant Oscar Belgal while he was in a car with his 5-year-old son. At least one agent shot seven rounds at the car, Belgal was hit in the neck.

“We call on Kingsbridge Associates LLC and other private landlords to stop collaborating with ICE by allowing their parking lots to be used as staging grounds,” the Interfaith Center of New York said in a statement following the shooting.

Security issue takes down Ahold Delhaize USA banner websites

    Ahold Delhaize USA

A network security incident has caused Ahold Delhaize USA to take all five of its U.S. grocery banner e-commerce sites offline.

In a brief announcement on its main website, Ahold Delhaize USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Dutch supermarket conglomerate Ahold Delhaize, said that it is “experiencing a security issue” within its network and is taking steps to assess and mitigate the issue, including taking some systems offline. At this time, the company’s brick-and-mortar stores are open and serving customers.

“Protecting our infrastructure in the best interest of our customers, associates and partners is a top priority,” Ahold Delhaize USA said in the statement. “We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused customers and partners.”

As of Monday, Oct. 12, the company’s individual e-commerce sites for its Food Lion, The Giant Company, Giant Food, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop banners all had a notice on the homepage stating they were temporarily down due to a technical issue. Since fall 2025, all five sites have been running on the same proprietary e-commerce platform.

Gartner: AI growing as source of holiday recommendations

    Online holiday shopping

New data indicates artificial intelligence is expanding, rather than replacing, the methods consumers use to find ideas for holiday gifts.

More than one-third, or 34%, of surveyed U.S. consumers report being very or extremely willing to use generative AI-backed tools or chatbots for holiday gift recommendations. A Gartner survey of 1,004 US consumers conducted in August 2026 also reveals that retailer websites, traditional Internet searches, and friend and family wish lists remain the most common sources of holiday shopping suggestions.

[READ MORE: Consumers to use AI tools for holiday product discovery, information]

However, respondents who currently use AI tools or chatbots for holiday shopping inspiration consult an average of 4.48 inspiration sources, compared with 3.24 among those who don’t use AI for holiday shopping inspiration. The finding indicates that AI is currently adding another layer to product discovery rather than replacing established shopping behaviors, according to Gartner analysis.

“AI is beginning to establish a role in the holiday shopping journey, but it is not replacing the channels consumers already use,” said Emily Weiss, senior principal analyst in the Gartner marketing practice. “Consumers who use AI for holiday shopping are also consulting a wider range of other sources, meaning marketers should prepare for more fragmented discovery journeys.”

In other findings, the survey also reveals that in-store shopping and Amazon are expected to remain the leading holiday purchase channels, with 77% of surveyed consumers planning to shop in stores and 75% planning to shop on Amazon.
