Golftec unifies in-store commerce operations with Square
A provider of golf lessons and premium club fittings is implementing a new commerce platform.
Golftec is deploying Square technology to support its brick-and-mortar payment infrastructure and serve as a unified commerce platform across its 200-plus U.S. locations.
"As one of the most technologically advanced experiences in sports training, everything we do is designed to drive our mission of helping people play better golf," said Chris Koske, chief marketing officer, Golftec. "We needed a commerce platform that could keep up – one that was just as seamless, flexible and intuitive as the experience we deliver to our players."
Golftec manages in-person transactions across hundreds of training centers, as well as a growing mix of retail, wholesale, and direct-to-consumer channels. The company found that its previous payment systems weren't keeping pace with growth, and store personnel were spending time troubleshooting payment issues or managing problematic transactions instead of providing higher-level customer service.
In addition, Golftec’s previous manual reconciliation process slowed the company’s ability to close its books, while limited visibility into chargebacks and customer data made it difficult to act on insights in a timely manner.
Golftec selected Square for its ease of integration into existing business tools and completed implementation in four weeks, allowing the company to modernize at scale without disruption. Leveraging its new unified commerce platform, Golftec can now accept seamless, mobile-friendly payments across in-center, retail, and e-commerce channels.
The company also obtains real-time visibility into transactions and customer activity across all locations and is streamlining refunds, reconciliation, and dispute management while offering flexible payment options including buy now, pay later.

According to Golftec, key results it has achieved so far include saving roughly 10,000 hours of administrative work tied to payments and refunds, closing its monthly books two days earlier and saving $100,000 through improved dispute and chargeback handling.
"Golftec has built an incredible experience that blends technology, expertise, and personalization at a remarkable scale," said Nick Molnar, global head of sales and marketing at Square parent company Block. "Choosing the right commerce partner means unlocking real impact across all of these fronts. We're seeing thousands of hours saved, faster financial close, and coaches who are free to focus on what they do best: helping students play better golf. When two innovators come together with a shared commitment to driving excellence, this is what's possible."
Founded in 1995, Golftec operates more than 260 locations worldwide.
