First Look: RH unveils its first-ever RH Estates location
RH has opened a new retail store concept dedicated to classic design and rare, collectible historical furnishings.
The luxury home furnishings retailer (formerly known as Restoration Hardware) opened the concept, “RH Estates," on Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich, Conn. The company said it plans to significantly expand RH Estates’ retail presence across the globe this year, with a second location opening on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles opening in 2027.
Additional RH Galleries are planned for Florida, in Naples on the site of a former Nordstrom, and in Aventura, reported WWD. The company is also scouting New York City's Madison Avenue, according to the report.
“Greenwich marks a pivotal moment for our brand as we introduce the first freestanding RH Estates Gallery in the world, an immersive and eclectic expression of rare and collectable historical designs of the highest quality previously only available at exclusive to-the-trade showrooms,” said RH chairman and CEO Gary Friedman.
As shoppers enter RH Estates, they pass through ornate doors into the “great room,” where a grand staircase of wrought iron and gold leaf ascends from limestone floors, beneath a ceiling adorned with intricate cornice detailing and sculpted medallions, illuminated by Venetian glass chandeliers.

Hand carvings, meticulously-applied finishes and time-honored construction techniques are featured across the gallery’s collections, each design crafted and finished individually by master artisans, according to RH. The company noted that the collections include includes exclusive designs from Michael Taylor, the godfather of the California Look who Architectural Digest called one of the '20 Greatest Designers of All Time.'
RH Estates includes RH’s first Italian restaurant in North America, Cucina Angelina. It’s named for Angelina Ascari, the mother of Friedman. First debuted at RH Milan, the menu features Italian classics, wood-fired pizzas and other RH favorites, with seating for 88.

The space is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling rift-sawn European white oak and layered with Crema Emperador marble, herringbone floors, Italian burnt caramel velvet banquettes and a coffered ceiling, with architectural lighting that creates a glow throughout.
