Dollar General to launch two-month holiday promotion
Halloween will mark the start of Dollar General’s major holiday discount period.
The discount retailer has already begun its holiday promotional season with a toy guide, as well as a "stacked savings" offer of a weekly $5 off $25 and additional digital coupons, loyalty cash back and other special incentives on its consumer app. Starting Thursday, Oct. 31 and lasting until Saturday, Dec. 21, Dollar General will run a larger holiday promotion called "DG Deal Days."
More than 6,000 items storewide will feature savings during the campaign and weekly three-day DG Deal Days sales events will run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the promotion. These will feature 25% and 50% off discounts; buy one, get one deals and other savings offers.
To kick off DG Deal Days from Oct. 31-Nov. 2, Dollar General will run promotions on products for the home including 50% off dinnerware, flatware sets, kitchen canisters, cutting boards and serving trays. Other product deals the week of Oct. 31 will include buy one, get one 50% off select toys; 50% off any ornament; 10% off gift cards; and buy one, get one 50% off holiday socks.
"As shoppers seek more ways to save this season, we are pleased to offer savings on thousands of items including everyday essentials, home decor must-haves and the things you need to trim your tree or wrap a gift," said Emily Taylor, Dollar General executive VP and chief merchandising officer. "Whether it’s holiday decorations, food for your family gatherings or gifts, DG is here for what matters, saving customers time and money for a stress-free and festive season."
The retailer has also debuted three recipe-centric ‘buy two, get one’ bundle deals for Thanksgiving, including ingredients for pumpkin pie, green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole.
