Dollar General kicks off summer with patriotic-themed monthlong sale
Dollar General Corp. is offering a 30-day sales promotion with an eye to the upcoming Independence Day holiday.
The discount retailer is launching “Stars, Stripes and Savings,” a sales event running June 1-30, 2026. The promotion features a fresh deal each day throughout the month on products Dollar General says are selected to support summer gatherings, travel and everyday needs.
Each week of Stars, Stripes and Savings” highlights a new theme:
Week 1 (June 1-6): Food & beverage
- Deals include savings on 2-liter Coca-Cola products, ice cream, chips and pantry items.
Week 2 (June 7-13): Backyard barbecue essentials
- Savings on grilling-related products including charcoal, propane, brats and franks, coolers and paper goods.
Week 3 (June 14-20): Patriotic & outdoor fun
- Discounts on patriotic and outdoor décor, pools and water toys, select apparel and gift cards.
Week 4 (June 21-27): Travel & staycation
- Value prices on sun care, personal care products and other items for travel and vacation.
Week 5 (June 28-30): Countdown to July Fourth
- Special daily deals on food and beverage items, each featured daily deal priced at $2.50 to kick off Independence Day celebrations.
In addition to daily deals, Dollar General offers an assortment of patriotic merchandise for July Fourth such as apple pie and Uncle Sam-themed salt & pepper shakers, hot dog holders, picnic blankets and drink tumblers. The retailer says that more than 85% of its patriotic items are priced at $5 or less and approximately 30% are available for $1.
“For more than 85 years, our mission has been to bring affordability to consumers who rely on us for convenient access to everyday essentials,” said Tony Rogers, chief marketing officer at Dollar General.
“Stars, Stripes and Savings” is the second major multi-day seasonal sales promotion Dollar General has run so far in 2026. In April, the retailer hosted a “7 Days of Savings” beauty promotional event timed for spring , offering value-driven deals across leading beauty and personal care brands.

As of Jan. 30, 2026, Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Dollar General Corp. 20,893 Dollar General, DG Market, DGX and Popshelf stores across the United States and Mi Súper Dollar General stores in Mexico.
