David’s Bridal enters resale partnership

David's Bridal debuts the 'Adored by David's' resale program.

A leading bridal and special occasion dress retailer is teaming up with a branded resale platform.

David's Bridal is introducing a new resale program called “Adored by David’s.” This initiative launches what David’s says is the largest branded bridal resale program on the market for wedding, bridesmaid, and special occasion dresses and accessories, at 40-50% cost savings via a curated and dedicated online storefront.

David’s is collaborating with branded resale platform Arrive Recommerce, which will manage Adored by David’s from receiving and inspecting excess, aged, and returned inventory to cleaning, assigning value, and shipping items directly to customers.

Each item will be restored and brought to peak condition before being exclusively listed online on a dedicated page of the David’s e-commerce site. All merchandise  will be organically dry-cleaned and shipped in ready-to-wear condition. Members of the David’s Diamond Loyalty program  can earn one Diamond Loyalty Point for every dollar spent on the website.

"We're excited to unveil ‘Adored by David's,’ offering stunning, affordable dresses to help her embrace sustainability without compromise," said Kelly Cook, president, brand, technology and finance at David’s Bridal. "By extending the life of our garments, we're not only offering a wide variety of gorgeous dresses but also taking a meaningful step toward a more sustainable future for fashion."

Looking ahead, the retailer plans to introduce a store and mail-in trade-in program for authentic David’s garments, as well as to introduce storied and vintage items into its resale initiative. In addition to enhancing its sustainability efforts, David’s says Adored by David’s helps preserve the integrity of its products.

"We applaud David’s Bridal for being a first mover in launching the bridal industry's largest branded resale program to-date," said Arrive co-founder and CEO Rachelle Snyder. "Their new initiative not only helps consumers to shop more responsibly but also aligns with a modern approach to business that values sustainability. By keeping valuable garments in use, David’s Bridal is providing accessibility, variety, and a sustainably-driven selection for brides and wedding parties alike that will set a new industry standard."
