Crocs AI-enables Jibbitz customization

Crocs - Ablo AI Jibbitz design
Crocs is providing AI-based Jibbitz customization.

Crocs is partnering with an AI-based fashion design platform to enhance the personalization options for its Jibbitz charms.

The specialty footwear brand is collaborating with Ablo to let customers design one-of-a-kind Jibbitz charms. Utilizing the intuitive Ablo platform, customers can create fully custom Jibbitz charms for their Crocs footwear.

To develop an AI-based personalized Jibbitz charm, customers can upload a photo or input a text prompt to the Ablo platform, choose from a variety of art styles, and then create a design.

Once their charm is designed, users can seamlessly proceed to the Crocs website to purchase their custom-made Jibbitz charms.

"Jibbitz have always been a fun way for everyone to express their personality," said Michael Scarpellini, head of partnerships at Ablo parent company Space Runners. "With Ablo, we’re giving them the freedom to take personalization to the next level, letting their creativity shine on every pair of Crocs."

The Ablo AI fashion design platform is built on Story’s Layer-1 blockchain.

Crocs expands Jibbitz presence with interactive technology

Crocs has been integrating the Jibbitz customer experience with immersive technologies for several years. In 2023, the company brought the charms to the metaverse with the virtual Crocs Jibbitz Experience, which includes the brand’s first-ever 3D “Jibbitz Customizer.”

This feature was engineered by experiential commerce platform Obsess to provide consumers with a mix-and-match tool to create their own custom pair of Crocs with Jibbitz charms, which can then be purchased directly from the Crocs Jibbitz Experience metaverse store.

In 2022, Crocs collaborated with rap music artist Saweetie to design her own custom Jibbitz charms. As part of the launch, Crocs and rapper Saweetie opened an interactive virtual store based on technology from Obsess. The immersive experience features a digital avatar of Saweetie welcoming customers to explore the 3D metaverse environment.

And in 2021, Crocs launched a limited-time global partnership with Bitmoji, the platform for creating personalized digital avatars. Through this activation, customers were able to outfit their Bitmoji avatars with items from a digital collection of Crocs shoes and Jibbitz charms.
