  • Green Valley Markets to open at Elkridge Corners

    Elkridge, Md. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said that it has leased retail space in Elkridge, Md., at Elkridge Corners shopping center to Green Valley Markets. 

    A Baltimore-based grocery wholesaler/retailer founded in 1915, B. Green & Company is opening its third retail location and its first new full-service neighborhood supermarket concept Green Valley Markets in a 39,571-sq.-ft. space. Interior and exterior store improvements will begin this month. The store opening date is still to be finalized.

  • Former Macy's exec to head CVS/pharmacy

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Caremark has appointed former Macy’s executive Mark S. Cosby as president of CVS/pharmacy, effective Oct. 1.

    Cosby most recently served as Macy’s president of stores, where he was responsible for all Macy's store operations and support functions nationwide.

  • Party City opens at Indio Towne Center

    Indio, Calif. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers announced that Party City has opened Coachella Valley’s first store, at Regency’s Indio Towne Center, in Indio, Calif.

    The new 20,390-sq.-ft. store will open this fall, joining an under-construction Toys “R” Us/Babies “R” Us, also slated to open in the fall.

  • Present Value Properties names VP

    Tustin, Calif. -- Real estate brokerage firm Present Value Properties said Tuesday that Britt Nelson has joined the company as VP.

    Previously founder and president of NewCity Development, Nelson was responsible for site selection, acquisition, and procurement of development projects. Other responsibilities included coordination of the overall development teams and municipal relations.

    Nelson will be working with existing Present Value Properties' clients including Pizza Hut and Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt franchisees.

  • Westwood Financial acquires Stroh Ranch Retail Center

    Parker, Colo. -- Westwood Financial Corp. said it has acquired the Stroh Ranch Retail Center, a 6,336-sq.-ft. property in Parker, Colo., outside Denver. Westwood Financial bought the distressed asset in a short sale and said it is currently eyeing similar opportunities in this sector.

    The two-unit, 1999-built Stroh Ranch Retail Center currently counts Pizza Hut as its only tenant after Blockbuster vacated last year, leaving it 21% leased.
     

  • KFC opens eco-friendly restaurant in Indianapolis

    Indianapolis -- KFC is looking to earn LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for its newest restaurant in Indianapolis. The building is designed to use 25% less energy and water than a conventional KFC restaurant. It features energy-efficient cooking equipment, LED lighting, locally sourced building materials, recycling for cooking oil and plastics, fixtures designed for lower water use, and parking preference for hybrid vehicles.

  • Advance Auto Parts to open at Ashburn Farm Village Center

    Ashburn, Va. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased space at Ashburn Farm Village Center, located in Ashburn, Va., to Advance Auto Parts.

    The new, 7,134-sq.-ft. store is slated to open later this year.

    The 89,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Global Foods Market, alongside national retailers such as Hair Cuttery, Pizza Hut and Goodyear.
