  • Walgreens provides on-demand delivery service through Postmates

    Walgreens and its Duane Reade subsidiary on Tuesday inked a deal with Postmates that will provide urbanites across 30 markets on-demand delivery service fulfilling all their health, beauty and wellness needs, Postmates announced.

    This marks a same-day delivery first for a cutting-edge retailer like Walgreens, though Postmates has been delivering goods from the likes of Starbucks, Chipotle, McDonald’s, Apple, Etsy and 7-Eleven for some time now. Customers utilizing the service will be charged a flat introductory delivery fee of $4.99 for a limited time.

    Starbucks Coffee Company's first store in Panama is located in Panama City, in the Street Mall shopping center. With a 28-ft. high ceiling, the focal point of the 3,304-sq.-ft. store is a one-of-a-kind custom made hanging mobile, designed to represent the Geisha coffee plant, which signifies the birth of the coffee industry in Panama.

    Minneapolis – Target Corp. reportedly wants to become a place where consumers can go and everybody knows your name.

    According to USA Today, Target plans to serve liquor in a store slated to open in Chicago in October 2015.

    While a number of Target stores sell packaged alcohol products, this marks the first time Target would also serve liquor for customers to consume inside the store. Target has applied for permits to both sell alcohol for take-home purchase and for in-store consumption for the Chicago store.

    Seattle – In the aftermath of the Ferguson riots, Starbucks Corp. asked store employees and managers to be extra sensitive to customers who may be feeling emotional about racial issues. Now Starbucks is asking workers in stores to show financial sensitivity.

    According to Fusion, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz sent an internal email to employees and managers in stores asking them to recognize and respond to customers who are experiencing stress and anxiety resulting from the recent global stock market crash.
