  • Orvis names former Select Comfort CEO as new president

    Sunderland, Vt. - William R. McLaughlin has been named as the new president of the Orvis Company Inc. He will succeed Raymond G. McCready, who will retire later this year.  

    McLaughlin will assume the post July 27. McLaughlin's early career included leadership roles with Pillsbury and PepsiCo. At Pepsi, he managed several of their international businesses and rose to become president of Frito Lay Europe, Middle East & Africa.  From 2000 to 2012, McLaughlin was president & CEO of the specialty retailer Select Comfort Corp.

  • La-Z-Boy announces executive appointments

    La-Z-Boy has named Doug Collier as SVP of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, chief marketing officer and president, international, and has named Darrell Edwards as SVP of La-Z-Boy Incorporated and chief supply chain officer.  

    Collier rejoined La-Z-Boy in June 2007 after two years with Select Comfort as chief marketing officer and SVP of marketing. Prior to Select Comfort, Collier held various leadership positions at La-Z-Boy from 2002 through 2005, including VP of marketing and furniture galleries development.

  • La-Z Boy makes executive appointments

    Monroe, Mich. -- La-Z-Boy Incorporated announced the appointments of two executive officers. Doug Collier has been named senior VP of La-Z-Boy, chief marketing officer and president, international, and Darrell Edwards has been named senior VP of La-Z-Boy and chief supply chain officer.

  • SRS Real Estate negotiates new leases for Sleep Number

    New York -- Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners said that Select Comfort Corp., which operates the Sleep Number Store, has leased several new locations in and around New York City.

    In Danbury, Conn., the company leased 2,580 sq. ft. at the Shops at Marcus Dairy, an 80,000-sq.-ft. shopping center tenanted by Whole Foods, Eastern Mountain Sports and Panera Bread.

  • Inland acquires The Corner Shopping Center

    Tucson, Ariz. -- Oakbrook, Ill.-based Inland Diversified Real Estate Trust announced the acquisition of The Corner, an 80,155-sq.-ft. shopping center in Tucson, Ariz., for approximately $29.5 million.

    Tenants at The Corner include Total Wine, Nordstrom Rack and Five Guys Burgers and Fries, along with Sleep Number by Select Comfort, Sprint and Paradise Bakery.  

     

  • A&G Realty brings on two partners

    Melville, N.Y. -- Commercial real estate consulting, advisory and investment group A&G Realty Partners announced that Peter Lynch and Andrew Margolick have joined the firm as partners.

    Lynch joins A&G from DJM Realty, where he was a principal and senior managing director, and Margolick was president of his own firm, ARM Consulting, as well as a former VP at Hilco Real Estate.

  • Former Target dept. store merchant named CEO at bedding company

    Shelly Ibach, a former merchant at Target back when the company had a department store division, will replace Bill McLaughlin as president and CEO at Minneapolis-based mattress manufacturer and retailer Select Comfort.
