  • New devices dash to join Amazon replenishment

    Eleven new brands are heeding the call from Amazon.com to join the Amazon Dash Replenishment Service (DRS) program. General Electric, Samsung, August, Gmate, Oster, Obe, Petnet, CleverPet, Sutro, Thync, and Sealed Air are now offering devices enabled with DRS. DRS enables connected devices that measure consumable usage to automatically order physical goods from Amazon when supplies are running low, DRS is the same reordering service that supports the Amazon Dash Button.
  • Another mobile payment solution launches in U.S.

    Hot on the heels of Google’s official launch of Android Pay, Samsung is officially entering the U.S. mobile payment market. Samsung Pay, which launched in South Korea in August, is now available for use by U.S. consumers.

    Samsung Pay functionality is built into the hardware of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge mobile devices. Samsung says Samsung Pay is the first and only mobile payment service that works with both near field communication (NFC) and card readers with magnetic secure transmission (MST) technologies, which means it is already compatible with most POS terminals.

    Samsung Electronics Co. on Thursday announced Samsung Pay, a mobile payment service that will let customers pay with their phones at nearly any credit-card terminal. The new system will launch in Korea on Aug. 20 and in the United States on Sept. 28.

    According to a new survey of 1,000 U.S. adults by online deal site FatWallet, a leading 41% of kids are asking for Nike products this back-to-school season.
