  • Sam's Club offers membership deal ahead of holiday season

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club announced that it is offering a 15-week membership for $15 to help consumers take advantage of the retailer's deals for the holiday season. The seasonal membership is available for purchase during regular club hours for a limited time between Oct. 4 and 10, and extends to new advantage and business members. Annual membership fees regularly start at $35 for business and $40 for advantage members.

  • OfficeMax launches Google Wallet

    Naperville, Ill. -- OfficeMax Inc. has launched new checkout terminals in more than 100 stores that harness Google Wallet to enable customers to pay, redeem coupons and reap the benefits of OfficeMax's MaxPerks Rewards loyalty program, all with a tap of their mobile phones. The chain is the first national office supply retailer to accept mobile payments through Google Wallet, which is a partnership between Google, MasterCard Worldwide, Citigroup Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp. and First Data Corp.

  • ASDA Stores to launch mobile grocery delivery notification

    Encinitas, Calif. -- U.K. retailer ASDA Stores Ltd., a division of Wal-Mart, will roll out Single Touch Systems’ mobile-based Grocery Delivery Notification Program. It is Single Touch’s first business win outside the United States.”

    BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Whirlpool announced it has been named to the 2011/2012 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the seventh consecutive year. In 2011, the company's centennial year, Whirlpool was named to both the World and North America lists. The DJSI tracks the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

  • Survey: Publix and Target top in pharmacy customer satisfaction among grocery and mass retailers

    Westlake Village, Calif. -- In a survey released Tuesday by J.D. Power and Associates, which polled customers about their expectations of their pharmacists, Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Health Mart, Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy, Publix and Target rank highest in pharmacy customer satisfaction in their respective segments.

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club announced the launch of Simply Right Baby Care, which will be part of its Simply Right health and wellness brand.

    The Simply Right Baby Care line will include premium diapers, premium wipes and infant formula.

  • Sam's Club reworks private label into three brands

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club has announced the availability of three new proprietary brands found exclusively at Club locations nationwide: Simply Right, Artisan Fresh and Daily Chef. 

    The products under the three brands were previously all available under the Member's Mark brand. Sam's Club said it decided to break out the labels after research determining members' priority needs in health and wellness, fresh, flavorful meal solutions and everyday cooking.
