  • Publix profits, sales rise in Q4

    Lakeland, Fla. -- Publix Super Markets turned in another great quarter, a 7.4% increase in profits and a 6.9% increase in sales in the fourth quarter.

    The reported a profit of $453.3 million in the fourth quarter, compared to $422 million in the year ago period. Net sales totaled $7.9 billion; same store sales increased 6.4%.

  • Publix posts 7.4% increase in profits

    Publix continues to be a blockbuster in its industry, as the grocery chain posted a 7.4% increase in profits in the fourth quarter.

    The Florida-based retailer reported a profit of $453.3 million in the fourth quarter, compared to $422 million in 2013. Earnings per share for the fourth quarter increased to $0.58 for 2014, up from $0.54 per share in 2013. Publix reported net sales of $7.9 billion; same store sales increased 6.4%.

  • Wegmans, Amazon.com top corporate reputation list

    Wegmans Food Markets, Costco, Publix and CVS are among the highest ranked companies in terms of corporate reputation, according to a new poll.

    The 16th annual Harris Poll Reputation Quotient study ranked the reputations of the 100 most visible companies. Scores range from excellent (scores of 80+) to poor (scores of 50 to 64).

  • Walmart, Kroger, and Target among chains working with University of Florida team to curtail shoplifting

    GAINESVILLE, Fla - More than 40 major retail chains, including The Home Depot, Walmart, Kroger and Target, formed a specialized research council to facilitate the use of science to curtail theft and violence. As part of this effort, A specialized University of Florida research team has been formed to interviews offenders, analyzes large datasets, and conducts field experiments to adapt and devise new crime control methods and technologies.

Power & Associate Satisfaction Survey, a customer satisfaction benchmark study that provides pharmacy-specific performance comparisons among brick and mortar pharmacies.  
  • Publix to co-anchor Steele Creek Crossing

    Charlotte, N.C. --Westwood Financial Corp. announced that Publix Super Markets has now opened as the new anchor tenant at Steele Creek Crossing in Charlotte, N.C. This lease marks one of seven Bi-Lo locations Publix has taken over in the Charlotte area.

    Cincinnati - Phillips Edison–ARC Shopping Center REIT Inc. acquired 11 grocery-anchored shopping centers during third quarter 2014. The company's portfolio now consists of 131 properties located in 27 states and leased to 38 leading grocery store anchors.

    The 11 grocery-anchored shopping centers acquired during the third quarter to date expanded the company's presence in 10 states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.
