    BOCA RATON, Fla. — Office Depot is getting ready to roll out omnichannel initiatives, just in time for the back-to-school season. Beginning July 28, its employees will be equipped with mobile hand-held devices across all stores, which will provide them with tools designed to enhance shoppers’ experience.

    Office Depot employees will be able to use the hand-held devices to obtain instant access to extended product information, availability, customer reviews and on-the-spot checkout from anywhere in the store.

    Boca Raton, Fla. – Office Depot is launching a new online school supplies checklist that allows teachers to build, store and share checklists of required school supplies through an online platform. Teachers can use a starter list with recommended supplies by grade level or customize their own checklist to share with parents, allowing them to make purchases directly from the website or print the list for in-store shopping.

  • Starboard Value foregoes Office Depot consent solicitation

    New York – Investment firm Starboard Value, a shareholder in Office Depot, is foregoing a preliminary consent solicitation it filed against Office Depot in April in light of an order by the Delaware Chauncery Court for Office Depot to hold its annual meeting. Starboard Value had been pressing Office Depot to hold its annual meeting and commenced a consent solicitation to remove several existing directors in favor of Starboard's nominees.
