  • Simons opens its first outlet center in Southeast Asia

    Indianapolis -- Simon Property Group announced that, in 50/50 partnership with Genting Berhad, it has opened Johor Premium Outlets, its first Premium Outlet Center in Southeast Asia.

    The center encompasses 173,000 sq. ft. of gross leasable area featuring 80 stores and is located in Johor Bahur, Malaysia. A grand opening celebration will take place on December 11, 2011.

  • Sachse Construction awarded two Nike remodels

    Birmingham, Mich. -- Sachse Construction has been awarded two Nike store projects, in Louisville, Ky., and Des Moines, Iowa. Both projects expect to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

    The Nike Factory Store in Louisville is a 14,971-sq.-ft. remodel. The project took roughly 16 weeks to complete and was finished in mid-October.

    The Des Moines Nike store is a 14,000-sq-ft. remodel. The project will take about 14 weeks and will be finished near the end of November.

  • SRS Real Estate names marketing personnel

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners has announced the hiring of Caroline Hurley as a senior marketing coordinator in the Dallas/Ft. Worth office.

    Hurley will be responsible for executing national marketing strategies at the local level including branding, lead generation initiatives, communications and public relations, digital marketing and providing broker support.

    PITTSBURGH — Dick's Sporting Goods announced that it is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its "October -- The Power of Pink" campaign supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Throughout October, Dick's Sporting Goods will feature a variety of pink ribbon items in its stores and online at www.DicksSportingGoods.com/pink from top brands including Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, Lady Hagen and MaxFli and is encouraging consumers to join in showing their support for the cause.

  • Children's Place names head of global sourcing

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — The Children's Place Retail Stores has announced the appointment of Peter Warner as SVP global sourcing, effective immediately. Warner will report to Eric Bauer, COO, and will serve as a member of the company's senior leadership team. He will be responsible for the global sourcing and production functions, technical services and Asian operations.

  • Brown Shoe names new leadership at sporting goods division

    ST. LOUIS — Brown Shoe Company announced that it has made four strategic additions to the leadership team within its American Sporting Goods division, appointing James Hoff as VP sales across all ASG brands, Alan Vickers as VP international, Brad Little as VP and brand manager Avia and Nevados, and Jorge Cabrera as VP athletic product development.
