  • Deckers names Outerwall chair to board

      Goleta, Calif. - Deckers Brands has appointed Nelson Chan, chairman of the board of directors of Redbox and Coinstar parent company Outerwall, to the company's board of directors. Maureen Conners will step down from the Deckers board at year-end to pursue other activities.  
  • Genesco lowers outlook, names new CFO

    Genesco detailed succession plans for its CFO on a day that the company also reported weaker-than-expected earnings for the fiscal third quarter and lowered its outlook for the full year.

  • Genesco CFO to retire; reports Q3 profit miss

    Nashville, Tenn. — Genesco Inc. announced that James S. Gulmi, senior VP and CFO, will retire at the end of its current fiscal year.  He will be succeeded as CFO by Mimi E. Vaughn, the company's current senior VP —strategy and shared services.   Gulmi, who has served as Genesco's CFO since 1986, will continue as senior advisor to the company for at least the  next year.

    Goleta, Calif. — Ugg Australia, a division of Deckers Brands, has taken its omnichannel commitment to a new level with the opening of its store in Tysons Galleria, McLean, Va. The technology-driven, 2,110-sq.-ft. store features the latest in omnichannel solutions and RFID innovations that combine to make for a more seamless and connected customer experience.   
  • UGG debuts high-tech concept store in Washington, D.C. area

    Goleta, Calif. -- UGG parent company Deckers Brands announced the grand opening of its first-ever UGG Australia technology-driven concept store, located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.    
  • MG Properties, Hines, partner on New York mixed use project

    New York - MG Properties, the real estate investment and development arm of McCourt Global, is entering an equity and development partnership with Hines, the international real estate firm, on the development of its mixed-use project at 360 Tenth Ave. in New York City. MG Properties and Hines have selected SHoP Architects to design the project.

    In 2013, 360 Tenth Avenue was purchased from Sherwood Equities for approximately $167.5 million. The property is zoned for up to 733,406-sq.-ft. of Total Zoning Floor Area (ZFA).

  • Genesco extends EarthLink partnership

    Nashville, Tenn. - Genesco Inc. recently extended its relationship with EarthLink, with future plans to use the network in new ways to enhance the customer shopping experience. A longtime EarthLink customer, Genesco relies on a private EarthLink MPLS network to run all in-store point-of-sale, inventory management and employee communications and training in its Johnston & Murphy, Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Underground by Journeys and Shï by Journeys stores.

  • Schuh Group acquisition cuts into Genesco Q2 earnings

    Nashville, Tenn. – Deferred expenses related to its 2011 purchase of Scotland-based Schuh Group, as well as a change in accounting for bonus for awards, reduced net income at Genesco Inc. to $4.8 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2015, down 43% from the same quarter the previous year.
