  • Bi-Lo mixes it up in Ga.

    Bi-Lo Holdings, parent company of the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie supermarket chains, plans to convert seven existing Harveys stores to Winn-Dixie stores and three existing Winn-Dixie stores to Harveys stores.

    The stores are part of the pending acquisition of 134 operating stores from Delhaize Group.

  • Bi-Lo converts Harveys, Winn-Dixie stores to new banners

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Bi-Lo Holdings, LLC, parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie supermarket chains, is converting seven existing Harveys stores to Winn-Dixie stores and three existing Winn-Dixie stores to Harveys stores. These stores are part of the pending acquisition of 134 operating stores from Delhaize Group.

    Harveys stores in Brunswick, St. Marys and Valdosta, Ga. are affected, as are Winn-Dixie stores in Americus, Albany, and Leesburg, Ga.

  • H.E.B, Trader Joe’s, Chick-fil-A and Publix tops in customer experience survey

    Waban, Mass. -- H.E.B. Grocery, Trader Joe's, Chick-fil-A, and Publix earned the highest scores in the 2014 Temkin Experience Ratings, which ranked 268 companies across 19 industries. Joining those firms in the top 14 spots are Aldi, Food Lion, Sonic Drive-In, credit unions, Dairy Queen, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Regions, Sam's Club, and Starbucks.

  • Bi-Lo Holdings, Delhaize Group deal moves forward

    New York -- Bi-Lo Holdings and Delhaize Group have received approval from the Federal Trade Commission to proceed with the transaction in which Bi-Lo Holdings will acquire substantially all of the stores in Delhaize’s Sweetbay, Harveys and Reid’s supermarket chains. As part of the deal, Bi-Lo agreed to divest 12 Delhaize America stores in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, and Delhaize Group agreed to retain two stores that were initially part of the deal.

  • Bi-Lo, Delhaize get green light on acquisition

    Bi-Lo Holdings and Delhaize Group have received approval from the Federal Trade Commission to proceed with the transaction in which Bi-Lo Holdings will acquire substantially all of the stores in the Sweetbay, Harveys and Reid’s supermarket chains from Delhaize.

    Charlotte, N.C. - Branding and retail marketing agency, Theory House, has named Christopher Durham to the leadership team as VP of retail brands. Durham joins Theory House with more than 20 years of experience developing and managing brands both at the retail level and as a consultant, including work for Office Depot, Best Buy, Food Lion, Hannaford and Lowe’s Home Improvement.

  • Food Lion launches grocery coupons tool

    Food Lion has unveiled a new online tool, MVP Coupon Hub, to make accessing grocery coupons online easier for customers.

    The new tool, found on the grocer’s website features load-to-card and printable coupons.

  • Havertys to Glensford Commons in Fayetteville, N.C.

    Charlotte, N.C. — Havertys Furniture has leased a 45,000-sq.-ft. location in Glensford Commons in Fayetteville, N.C. The Charlotte office of Divaris Real Estate represented Havertys Furniture in the lease negotiations.

    Other leases completed by Divaris in the Carolinas include a 3,600-sq.-ft. location for Firsthealth of the Carolinas in Carthage, N.C. Divaris handled the lease negotiations on behalf of the landlord, Food Lion.
