Celebrated U.K. Christmas brand Lapland to open first U.S. store

Lapland Store
Lapland Store will open on Nov. 4 in New York City.

Lapland Store, the British brand known for giving visitors an immersive Christmas experience, will make its U.S. debut with an outpost in New York City.

Located in mid-town Manhattan on West 57th Street near Fifth Avenue, the 3,800-sq.-ft. store is designed to bring visitors into the “Elven World” of Lapland. The region, in the northernmost part of Finland, has come to be known as the home of Santa Claus (or Father Christmas) and his helpers (elves).

The seasonal store promises spectacular floristry, atmospheric lighting and intricate details that will bring “a little of Father Christmas’s world to the heart of New York.” It will open on Nov. 4, following the launch of its online store in October.

Lapland Store, which was founded in 2007, says has reimagined the traditional Christmas experience, creating an original world around the true home of Father Christmas with more than thirty characters, stories and traditions. Its first product collection arrived in the U.S. (online only) in 2025, with the Christmas Eve collection selling out in just six days, according to the company.

The merchandise assortment ranges from hand-illustrated decorations to Christmas pajamas to toys.

“Every product starts with a story of where it belongs in Father Christmas’s world,” said Matt Battle, director of brand & product at Lapland. “Our job is to make that story believable through exceptional quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. It has to feel as though it truly came from Lapland.”

As part of the store experience, shoppers can “meet the Elves who crafted the products,” sip authentic Lapland hot chocolate, and take a seat in Father Christmas’s chair beneath a magical “Elf Hat” to discover whether they have made it onto the “Good List.”

Lapland Store is the retail division of Lapland Group, which offers live theatrical experiences that take visitors on a journey though the Elven World.
