Caesars Superdome deploys self-ordering kiosks in time for Super Bowl
Consumers attending Super Bowl LIX will have a streamlined option to select, order and pay for concessions.
Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which is the home arena for the New Orleans Saints NFL franchise as well as the site for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX (Sunday, Feb. 9), is rolling out 12 Grubbrr self-ordering kiosks for use at the “Big Game.”
Parish Pizza & Provisions, featuring Little Caesars, located in Section 115 in the stadium, will have 12 Samsung kiosks running the Grubbrr self-ordering system available in the area. Customers place and pay for orders at the kiosks and then pick up their orders at a nearby food locker.
The kiosks enable consumers to browse and order from several different stadium venue menus simultaneously and then pick up their entire order at a single location.
According to Grubbrr, the kiosks boost average ticket size by 40 to 50% per transaction. In an email to Chain Store Age, Aaron Shores, IT manager/system administrator for venue management provider Sodexo Live at Caesars Superdome, said the kiosks will help deliver a high-quality customer experience at the Super Bowl.
“At Caesars Superdome, our goal for the Big Game is to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans while ensuring fast and accurate transactions with seamless execution,” Shores said in the email. "We want our fans to spend less time away from the game, and Grubbrr's tech on the Samsung all-in-one kiosk does just that. Fans have lauded this cutting-edge technology for its remarkable speed, efficiency, and user-friendly interface, all designed to enhance their overall experience on game day."
Stadiums expedite concessions
An increasing number of stadiums and arenas across major sports leagues including the NFL are embracing technology that removes friction from the process of buying concessions.
For example, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, which serves as the home field for the Tennessee Titans NFL pro football franchise, has rolled out the AiFi spatial intelligence platform.
Running on the Verizon 5G network, the camera-led solution tracks people and objects through space to enable autonomous checkout, as well as safety and compliance, consumer behavior analysis, dwell time reports, and out-of-stock notifications.
In another recent example, in April 2024, Mercedes Benz Stadium, home field for both the Atlanta Falcons pro football franchise and pro soccer team Atlanta United FC, began operating a frictionless store called the Michelob Ultra Grill in partnership with GS Draft System Solutions.
