    Redlands, Calif. — Esri announced the next generation of its Tapestry Segmentation system, which reflects a decade of analysis of major U.S. events such as the housing boom of the early 2000s and its long-term impacts on the U.S. population.

  • Profitero bolsters global leadership team

  • Report: Search ad spend up 25% year-over-year

    San Francisco -- Search ad spend increased 25% year-over-year and 2% quarter-over-quarter, according to Kenshoo, a leader in predictive media optimization technology.

    Among the key findings in the research:

    • Search click-through rate increased 26%, driving a 15% increase in clicks year-over-year;

    • Social ad spend increased 51% year-over-year and 21% quarter-over-quarter; and

    • Social impressions increased 13% year-over-year.

  • Retail sales inch up 0.2% in June, dragged down by drop in auto sales

  • Survey: Most Americans have made online purchases

    New York – A majority of Americans say they have purchased clothing (69%), digital content (59%), and accessories such as handbags and shoes (54%) online, while half (49%) have purchased personal electronics such as digital music players or tablets in this fashion. However, according to a recent Harris Poll of 2,241 U.S. adults, nearly eight-in-10 respondents indicated an in-person preference for general food purchases such as groceries (78%).

  • NACS: Consumer optimism surges

    Alexandria, Va. - Consumer optimism about the economy reached a 12-month high in July. According to data from the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), consumer optimism surged from 39% to 46%, the highest level of optimism since it stood at 48% in July 2013.

  • Spending growth solid in June

    First Data Corporation reported solid June spending growth in a number of sectors in its First Data SpendTrend analysis for May 31, 2014 through June 30, 2014, compared to June 1, 2013 through July 1, 2013.

    SpendTrend tracks same-store point-of-sale data by credit, signature debit, PIN debit, EBT, closed-loop prepaid cards and checks from nearly 4 million merchant locations serviced by First Data.

  • First Data: June spending growth slows

    Atlanta -- Consumer spending slowed in June but remained positive on a year-over-year basis with a growth of 3%, according to First Data SpendTrend analysis, which tracks same-store point-of-sale data by credit, signature debit, PIN debit, EBT, closed-loop prepaid cards and checks from nearly four million merchant locations serviced by First Data.
