  • Hibbett Sports opens 1,000th store, in Texas

    New York -- Hibbett Sports’ expansion plan hit an important milestone in Sealey, Texas this month, with the opening of its 1,000th store location.

  • Warehouse food fomat opens 100th location

    WinCo Foods LLC is marking its 100th store opening with a huge celebration in Texas on May 7.

    The newest WinCo Foods store is located at 1288 W. Main St. in Lewisville and is the fifth WinCo Foods store to open in Texas. Occupying approximately 83,000 square feet the store will initially employ approximately 150 individuals, about 140 of whom have been hired locally.

  • Gander Mountain to open in Marion, Illinois

    Marion, Ill. -- Outdoor gear and apparel retailer Gander Mountain is set to open its new location, in Marion, Illinois, on May 7.

    The new 52,000-sq.-ft. store is the company’s eighth in Illinois. The exterior and interior layout reflect Gander Mountain's new store design featuring innovative interior elements, displays and fixtures.

  • WinCo Foods opening 100th store

    New York -- Discount supermarket company WinCo Foods LLC will open its 100th store on May 7, in Lewisville, Texas. The 83,000-sq.-ft. location is the fifth WinCo store to open in the Lone Star State.

    The new store features WinCo's signature "Wall of Values" at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high-volume, value-priced products.

    WinCo currently operates some 100 stores in the states of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Texas.
     

  • Tuesday Morning sales up, store count down

    Tuesday Morning Corp. completed its turnaround initiative in the third quarter, closing 21 stores and narrowing its loss to $2.8 million.

    The company also said that Melissa Phillips has been promoted to president and chief operating officer from executive vice president and general merchandise manager.

  • REI plans new Arizona distribution center

    Seattle - REI will open a third distribution center, located in Goodyear, Arizona. The specialty outdoor retailers seeks to better support its stores and customers through faster product replenishment and delivery.

  • Report: Warby Parker raises $100 million for new stores

    New York – Specialty eyewear Warby Parker has reportedly received $100 million in financing the company plans to use to build new brick-and-mortar stores. According to the Wall Street Journal, the round of financing, led by T. Rowe Price, values Warby Parker at $1.2 billion.

  • Report: Target returns 55 Canada leases

    Mississauga, Canada – Target Corp.’s exit from Canada is reportedly not turning out as smoothly as the retailer had hoped. According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, Target is returning 55 leases it could not find a bidder for to their landlords.

    Target is also returning 19 leases for office and warehouse space in Canada. The company operated a total of 133 stores in Canada; meaning about 40% of the store leases did not attract bidders.
