  • Saks’ Off 5th enters Canada with three store locations

    Toronto -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th has announced its first three store locations in Canada as it prepares to enter the Canadian marketplace next year.

    The retailer will open stores in Tanger Outlets, Kanata (a suburb of Ottawa); Outlet Collection at Niagara, Niagara-on-the-Lake; and Vaughan Mills, Vaughan (just north of Toronto) in spring 2016. The three stores are the first of up to 25 locations that Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th plans to open nationwide.

  • Canadian Tire acquires 12 Target leases

    Toronto -- Canadian Tire Corp. has concluded an agreement to acquire 12 real estate leases formerly held by Target Canada for $17.7 million. The transaction is subject to the approval of the court in connection with Target Canada's CCAA proceedings.

  • Foot Locker to open big in Times Square with 36,000-sq.-ft. flagship

    New York -- Himmel + Meringoff and The Swig Company, co-owners of 1460 Broadway, announced that Foot Locker has signed a 15-year lease to occupy the building’s entire 36,000-sq.-ft., four-level retail space which has been designated as 8 Times Square.

  • Robert Redford’s Sundance Catalog to open two stores in 2015, five in 2016

    Salt Lake City -- Sundance Catalog is gearing up for retail expansion, with plans to open two locations in 2015: one in Edina Galleria in Edina, Minnesota, in September, and a second store in Dallas’ NorthPark Center in November. Up to five additional stores are planned for 2016.

  • Retail Properties of America acquires community center in Tysons Corner

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- Retail Properties of America announced that it has closed on the off-market acquisition of a 38,000-sq.-ft. community center located in Tysons Corner, which is in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore corridor.

    Recently renovated in 2012, the property is anchored by Golfsmith and shadow-anchored by Best Buy. It is also supported by national fast-causal restaurant offerings including Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Roti. The property was purchased off-market for approximately $31.6 million.

  • L.L. Bean, Capital Grille sign Legacy Village leases

    Cleveland - L.L. Bean and The Capital Grille have executed leases at the 610,000-sq.-ft, mixed-use Legacy Village town center. The 16,000-sq.-ft. L.L. Bean store will feature an assortment of active and casual apparel and footwear, outdoor gear including hiking, fly-fishing, kayaking and camping products.

    L.L. Bean will open in the space currently occupied by Talbots, which will be relocating to a new space within the shopping center. This will be L.L. Bean’s 23rd retail store outside of Maine.

  • Domino’s enters Republic of Georgia

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza has opened in its third new market so far in 2015, as the first Domino's store in the Republic of Georgia opened the capital city of Tbilisi. Domino's Pizza in Georgia is a joint venture between Turkven, Domino's master franchisee in Turkey, and Geo Pizza LLC, led by CEO Tea Shengelia.

  • Caruso Affiliated names new digital marketing executive

    Los Angeles  — Privately held real estate development company Caruso Affiliated, has named Chris Baccus to senior VP, digital marketing. Baccus will lead digital strategy for various Caruso brands across all digital platforms, including SEO/CRM, digital advertising, social media and the entire company’s Web and mobile assets, reporting to chief marketing and communications officer Judy Johnson.
