  • Report: Hudson’s Bay planning IPO

    New York -- Hudson’s Bay Co., owner of the Lord & Taylor and The Bay chains, plans to file for an initial public offering, according to The New York Times.

    A listing, which is expected to be on the Toronto Stock Exchange, could come this fall, before the end of November, the report said, with as much as 20% of the company being sold to the public.

    “Who agreed to this language?”

    How many times have each of us been handed leases containing  terms which cause us to   ask , “Where did these provisions come from?” or “This is the first time I’ve seen these stipulations, did the transactions group understand the costs of compliance?” The answer is: probably more times than we’d like to recall.

  • New salon to open at Village on the Green

    Dallas -- Cypress Equities said Friday that Iconic Salon Suites will open at Village on the Green in north Dallas.

    Iconic Salon Suites will occupy a 6,800-sq.-ft. retail space beside Jos. A. Bank, and joins recent additions such as Allstate, Plush Nails & Spa and Chiro One Wellness Centers.

  • Nordstrom to open two full-line stores

    Seattle -- Nordstrom said Tuesday it will open two new full-line stores – one in Jacksonville, Fla., and the other in Woodlands, Texas.
     
    The Florida store will open at St. Johns Town Center, a Simon Property and Ben Carter-owned shopping center. The 124,000-sq.-ft. store will be two levels and is expected to open in fall 2014.

  • Divaris completes eight retail leases in central Virginia

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate said that the company completed eight lease transactions totaling more than 81,000 sq. ft. of retail space in central Virginia.

    Children’s Museum of Richmond leased 26,060 sq. ft. of retail space in the Divaris-leased Winterpock Crossing Shopping Center, located in Midlothian, Va.

    K&G Menswear signed a lease for 22,888 sq. ft. of retail space in White Oak Village, located in Richmond and owned by Forest City Commercial Group.

  • Francesca’s to open at Delray Marketplace

    Delray Beach, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that Francesca’s Collections has leased 1,200 sq. ft. at Delray Marketplace, located in Delray Beach, Fla. 

    The center will open November 2012 and will be anchored by Publix and Franks Theatre/Imax. The 264,823-sq.-ft. Delray Marketplace is owned by KRG Atlantic Delray Beach, LLC. Other tenants include ROC, White House | Black Market, Apricot Lane, Bobby Chan, Jos. A. Banks, Charming Charlie and Chico’s.

  • Pet Supplies Plus to open three new retail locations

    Conshohocken, Pa. -- Pet Supplies Plus has signed leases for three new stores in the Delaware Valley, totaling more than 26,000 sq. ft.

    An 8,700-sq.-ft. store will open at Greentree Square Shopping Center in Marlton, N.J.; a 9,800-sq.-ft. store will open at Doylestown Pointe in Doylestown, Pa.; and a7,650-sq.-ft. location will open at The Shops at Blue Bell in Blue Bell, Pa.

    All three stores are slated to open prior to year’s end.

  • Wal-Mart’s new Oregon store to have state’s largest green roof

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores said Friday that its new store in Portland, Ore., will feature the state’s largest green roof.

    According to a report by Oregon’s Daily Journal of Commerce, the 90,000-sq.-ft. store, which broke ground Friday in North Portland, will be topped by a 40,600-sq.-ft. green roof, surpassing by more than 10,000 sq. ft. the current largest green roof over the Ramona apartment complex in Portland.
