  • Aaron’s appoints VP real estate and construction

    Atlanta -- Aaron's announced that Jeannie M. Cave has been hired as the company's new VP real estate and construction. She will be responsible for a number of activities including the development of strategies that support Aaron's real estate goals and the management of the company's real estate portfolio for both company-operated and franchised stores.

    Cave brings 10 years of leadership experience from Cox Enterprises.
     

  • Albertsons to close four stores

    Boise, Idaho -- Albertsons LLC plans to close four underperforming stores: one in Arizona, one in Louisiana and two in Texas.

    The closings will leave Albertsons with 205 stores in the Southwest and the South.

  • Kohl's expands New York design studio, adds California studio

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl's Corp. said Thursday it is doubling the size of its design office in New York City, as well as adding its first design studio on the West Coast, in Santa Monica, Calif.

    The move, said the company, represents a commitment to its exclusive brands.

    "The investment reinforces our commitment to offering world-class brands at compelling value to our customers," said Kevin Mansell, Kohl's chairman, president and CEO, in a statement.

  • Regal Cinemas Theatre to open at Moorestown Mall

    Moorestown, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that it has executed a deal with Regal Entertainment Group to build the Regal Moorestown Mall Stadium 12 & Regal Premium Experience at Moorestown Mall, in southern N.J.

    The 56,000-sq.-ft., 12-screen theatre is slated to open in time for the 2013 summer movie season.

  • Charming Charlie to open at Plymouth Meeting Mall

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. – Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that Charming Charlie will open a new store at Plymouth Meeting Mall, located in suburban Philadelphia.

    The new 12,000-sq.-ft. store is slated to open spring 2012. It completes the center’s recently developed outdoor lifestyle retail wing, which is anchored by Whole Foods Market and Café and features Loft, Orvis, Chico’s, Coldwater Creek, Jos. A Bank, Olly Shoes and Massage Envy.

  • Sears concepts slated to open in Texas

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Edge Realty Partners announced several Sears concept planned openings in Texas. 

    Sears Outlet leased a 30,577-sq.-ft. space in Ridgmar Town Square located in Fort Worth, Texas. Sears Appliance Showroom leased a 5,500-sq.-ft. space in Timber Creek Crossing in Dallas.

    And Sears Outlet leased a 35,398-sq.-ft. space in Cottonwood Creek Village Shopping Center located in Allen, Texas.
     

  • Party City to open at Shopper's Haven Shopping Center

    Pompano Beach, Fla. -- Brixmor Property Group announced Thursday that Party City will open an 11,957-sq.-ft. store at Shopper's Haven Shopping Center, located in Pompano Beach, Fla.

    New York City-based Brixmor is the owner of Shopper's Haven Shopping Center.
