    New York -- Starting in November, J. Crew consumers can take advantage of MasterPass at checkout, a digital wallet service enables shoppers to use any payment card or enabled device to unlock a simplified and speedier checkout experience whether they’re at home, in a store or on the go.

  • Analysis: Moms with young kids more digitally engaged

    New York -- Moms with young kids, defined as children under the age of five, are often more active on social media, more likely to shop using mobile devices and more open to engage with brands across digital touchpoints than other segments of moms and consumers at large. A new analysis from Experian Marketing Services shows that moms with young kids are 62% more likely than the general population to use their mobile phones to look for local coupons while shopping.

    New York – Gowex is launching a new “social WiFi” network called We2 in New York City on Dec. 15. We2 will work by harnessing the global presence of Wi-Fi by turning “private” hotspots, such as those found in shops and restaurants, into public hotspots, which can be accessed for free by users registered on the We2 network.

The retailer is also launching The Toys"R"Us Wish List Wizard, a free iOS and Android app that turns parents’ smartphones into a scanner and lets kids scan items they want in-store for automatic inclusion on a digital wish list.

The campaign will include digital gift guides; special promotional offers, contests and sweepstakes.

  • Starbucks offers Twitter gift cards

    Seattle -- Starbucks is now offering gift cards that can be sent via Twitter. Under the company’s new “tweet-a-coffee program,” customers in the U.S. can sync their Starbucks account to their Twitter account and tweet to @tweetacoffee and the Twitter handle of the gift recipient, which will then send the recipient a $5 digital eGift.
