    New York – Tiffany & Co. grew net earnings 50% in a successful first quarter of fiscal 2014. Net earnings increased 50% to $126 million, up from $84 million in the same period a year earlier, aided by the elimination of pre-tax charges relating to staff and occupancy reduction.

    Worldwide net sales grew 13% to $1.01 billion, from $895.48 million. Worldwide same-store sales rose 11% due to growth in most regions.

  • DLC acquires The Court at Deptford in Deptford, New Jersey

    Tarrytown, N.Y. — DLC Management Corp. has acquired The Court at Deptford in Deptford, New Jersey. DLC plans to redevelop the 361,000-sq.-ft. center located next to the Deptford Mall.

    Tenants include Ross Dress for Less, Party City, Pier 1 and Olive Garden.

    Shopping centers in the well-occupied trade area averages occupancy rates of 95%, thanks to a population of 210,985 with an average annual income of $77,600.

    Pittsburgh – Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. is going to increase its focus on female customers. In a conference call with analysts discussing the company’s first quarter financial results, CEO Ed Stack said that the women’s segment has the most growth potential of any segment Dick’s targets.

    Denver — AmCap, Brixmor Property Group and Kimco have selected the Legend Retail Group to represent nearly 2 million sq. ft. of gross leasing area at 10 different retail centers across the Denver metropolitan area. The centers include:

  • Lowe’s builds earnings, sales in Q1; plans 15 new stores

    Mooresville, N.C. – Lowe’s Companies Inc. had a generally successful first quarter fiscal 2014 with earnings and sales both rising from the same period a year earlier, although sales missed Wall Street estimates. Net earnings rose 16% to $624 million from $540 million, while net sales increased 2% to $13.4 million from $13.1 million and same-store sales climbed 0.9%.
