  • Best Buy launches back-to-school campaign with mobile shopping app ShopSavvy

    New York City -- Best Buy has launched the first campaign under the new partnership between mobile shopping application ShopSavvy and vertical ad network Longboard Media.  

    The campaign features targeted and location-based feature offers, local store inventory and branding content delivered when ShopSavvy users scan relevant products with their smartphones at Best Buy locations.

  • Parago launches first rebate app for iPhone, Android

    New York  — Parago, the nation’s largest rebate provider, has announced the launch of GoRebate Mobile, the first mobile shopping applications for iPhone and Android focused on rebates that allow marketers to deliver rebates directly into the hands of value-seeking consumers.  

  • iCarly star helps H-E-B gear up for BTS

    SAN ANTONIO — H-E-B announced that Jennette McCurdy, co-star of Nickelodeon’s "iCarly," will star in its new "Gear Up for Back-to-School" ad campaign. The campaign launched Wednesday and runs through Aug. 31 in Texas.

  • Walgreens is Facebook fan favorite

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens recently surpassed 1 million fans on Facebook, the pharmacy operator announced Friday, and also has integrated its network of more than 7,700 drug stores through mobile platforms on Facebook Places and Foursquare.

    Consequently, Walgreens has quickly become the chain drug store retailer with the largest following on Foursquare, while developing a growing presence on other social communities, including Twitter and YouTube.

  • Shops at Legacy launches personal shopping app

    Plano, Texas -- Inland Western, based in Oak Brook, Ill., said that its Shops at Legacy, in Plano, Texas, has partnered with Smart Choice to launch a mobile personal shopping assistant app. The new app features product information, a customizable shopping experience and a “Men’s Corner,” which includes drink specials, sports game listings and gift ideas.

  • Survey: Smartphone usage driving consumer purchase habits

    Indianapolis -- More than half of U.S. consumers who’ve made at least one purchase on their smartphone have done so based on a marketing message delivered via mobile email, according to a new study by ExactTarget.

    While calling, texting and emailing remain the most frequent daily activities for smartphone users, the study found consumers are increasingly using their smartphones for more than the basics.

    NEW YORK — Macy's announced that its "Macy's Chefs A-Go-Go" food truck tour will kick off in Miami on June 28. The first-ever tour will feature a chef from Macy's Culinary Council at each stop. MCC chefs include Cat Cora, Todd English and Marcus Samuelsson.
