  • Snap Into the Customer Convenience Mindset

    SAP demonstrated a concept consumer app called “Snap” at its recent Retail Forum in Dallas. Snap provides customers with interactive 3-D assembly instructions for a vast array of products. The instructions are pulled from manufacturer CAD files and delivered via cloud after the customer scans a product barcode or QR code, with options such as zoom and audio. Snap even lets shoppers register products for warranties and automatically request replacement parts.

  • Ace Brand teams up with LL Cool J for sports contest

    Ace Brand from 3M Company has enlisted actor and rapper LL Cool J to help it kick off “A” Game Challenge, a nationwide contest inviting sports fans and aspiring young athletes nationwide ages 13-24 to submit “A” Game video entries, for a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship.

  • Arby’s supports national loyalty campaign with PunchTab

    Sandy Springs, Ga. - When Arby’s recently launched a new brisket sandwich menu item, the retailer chose PunchTab to help build a rewards campaign called “The League of Brisket.” The campaign encourages customers to join the league and complete challenges to earn free food and gear, as well as an entry for a chance to win the grand prize of pro football tickets and “the ultimate tailgate party.”

  • Hot Pockets ad campaign enlists Kate Upton and Snoop Dogg

    Hot Pockets is promoting its revamped sandwich line with the help of supermodel Kate Upton and rapper Snoop Dogg. The pair has teamed up in a parody music video called “You Got What I Eat” — a remix of Biz Markie’s 1989 hit single “Just a Friend (You Got What I Need).”

    The music video highlights the brand’s re-launch of its Hot Pockets sandwiches which feature 100% Angus Beef and Hickory Ham, real cheese and buttery seasoned crusts.

  • FineLine and Scanbuy team up to offer turnkey mobile engagement solution

    The “present” of retail technology just got a little more futuristic. Specialty paint retailer Sherwin-Williams recently released a new consumer app for Google Glass, called ColorSnap Glass, which provides a digital layer of color samples customers can view using the Google Glass device.

    Folgers is leveraging social media for its latest ad campaign, called “The Best Part.” The interactive strategy encourages users of the brand to read and share positive news through social news feeds.

  • Instagram to add advertising

    New York -- Instagram is adding advertising to its application. The popular photo-sharing app, which was acquired by Facebook last year, informed users about the change on its blog.
