CVS/pharmacy offers double quarterly ExtraBucks Rewards for limited time
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — The CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program, which boasts more than 70 million active members, now gives shoppers the ability to earn bigger rewards on most purchases during the peak fall and winter shopping season.
From Sept. 16 through Dec. 15, ExtraCare members can double their quarterly ExtraBucks Rewards by choosing to participate.
CVS/pharmacy was the first in the industry to launch and carry out a successful loyalty program. This year alone, members of the program have received more than $1.6 billion in ExtraCare savings and rewards. Now it will be even easier for customers to earn bigger rewards when purchasing products at CVS/pharmacy.
"With 15 years of leadership and innovation under our belt, we have learned what works when it comes to delivering personalized value to our customers," stated Rob Price, SVP and chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy. "Our ExtraCare members love earning and cashing in ExtraBucks Rewards. They think of it as 'free CVS money', so we are excited to give them the opportunity to earn double the rewards this fall."
Once enrolled, ExtraCare members will earn 4% back — instead of 2% — of nearly all dollars spent on everyday purchases at CVS/pharmacy through Dec. 15. All Double Quarterly ExtraBucks Rewards will be paid out starting on Jan. 1, 2013, and shoppers can use them like "free CVS money" that can be spent on most things in the store.
Since its launch, CVS/pharmacy has continued to innovate by offering shoppers new and personalized ways to save through ExtraCare. From the in-store ExtraCare Coupon Center, such opt-in programs as ExtraCare Beauty Club and ExtraCare Advantage for Diabetes, and the newest "send to card" digital savings option, shoppers have many options to choose how they want to engage with CVS/pharmacy and receive savings and rewards.
Members can log on to CVS.com/extracare or access the CVS mobile app to view what personalized ExtraSavings and ExtraBucks Rewards are currently available, and choose to "print" or "send to card" their coupon savings and ExtraBucks Rewards. In addition, members can use the CVS mobile app to digitally store their ExtraCare card in their smartphone, eliminating the need to carry an ExtraCare card when shopping.
