  • Study: Nordstrom is nation’s favorite fashion retailer; Dick’s tops for sports apparel

    Boulder, Col. -- Nordstrom is the nation’s favorite fashion retail chain, according to an annual consumer study conducted by customer intelligence solutions provider Market Force Information. The upscale department store edged out Kohl’s, which had ranked first in the three previous studies. This year, Kohl’s moved to the No. 2 spot overall, followed by Macy’s, Dillard’s and J.C. Penney.
     

  • Neiman Marcus builds Pinterest in fashion

    DALLAS — Neiman Marcus is inviting customers to create Pinterest collections featuring images from its Art of Fashion campaign for the chance to win a $1,000 gift card. 

    The contest runs March 6 to March 27. One winner will be chosen by a panel of Neiman Marcus judges.

  • Alliance Data renews credit-card program agreement with Gander Mountain

    Dallas -- Alliance Data Systems Corp., a leading provider of loyalty and marketing solutions derived from transaction-rich data, announced its Retail Services business has signed a long-term agreement to continue providing the co-brand credit card program for multichannel retailer Gander Mountain.

  • First Data expands FourSquare specials program

    ATLANTA — First Data, a provider of electronic commerce and payment processing, announced that it  is working with Foursquare to extend its already-successful Foursquare Specials for Credit Cards program to now accept Visa and MasterCard, and most debit cards. Foursquare has integrated the First DataSM OfferWiseSM solution that seamlessly allows users to sync their card, and then swipe at a participating merchant location to redeem offers and receive automatic savings.

  • Amazon, Target, Whole Foods among most admired companies

    Amazon lead the pack in the retail field on Fortune’s “Most Admired Companies” list. The e-commerce juggernaut was third ranked overall (behind Apple and Google) for, among other reasons, its efficient customer service and leadership under CEO Jeff Bezos.

    Nordstrom captured the number 16 spot for generating buzz for its first full-line retail store in Manhattan, well before its planned open date in 2018 and for its successful clearance brand, Nordstrom Rack.

  • Valpak shows some love with Facebook

    LARGO, Fla. — Coupon distributor Valpak took to Facebook last month to ask consumers to show what they love for the chance to win cash in the first ever Facebook promotion featured on the front of the Valpak envelope.

    Since the "Show Us What You Love" Sweepstakes started last month, Valpak has had an overwhelming response. Photographs of adorable babies, furry puppies and sunny beaches filled with families – have been sent in through the Valpak Facebook contest.
